Which guys in history were the best at not letting their opponents off the hook when hurt. The best ever finishers IMO: 1. Leonard 2. Joe Louis 3. Tyson 4. Aaron Pryor 5. Foreman 6. Arguello 7. Hagler 8. Holmes 9. Gomez 10. Trinidad Who else?
Pryor isn't a proven finisher against enough quality competition to make the list IMO. Hearns injury free belongs.
I wasn't going to say anything in order to avoid argument, but I tend to agree. Chavez could take a man out when he had him hurt but seemed to prefer to do it slowly and painfully, as opposed to the likes of Louis.
Archie Moore might be the definitive name here. If he set a trap and you fell into it, not in a week of Sundays were you seeing the round out.
I have no quarrels with Ray Leonard topping anyone's list. He was just wild when he had someone hurt. Floyd Mayweather Sr had no idea what hit him, and neither did Andy Price or Thomas Hearns.
Chavez was quite a good finisher. My man Ali was also underrated in this department.... not saying he & JCC would crack a top 10 but when they had you going, it was all over.
RJJ, ODLH, Bernard Hopkins, Lennox Lewis, Klit Bros., Henry Armstrong, Jake LaMotta, Max Baer, and of course Tony Galento.
I'm certainly glad you've got Tyson up there. If he thought you were going, it'd be a combination in double digits until it was over. In his prime. Later on there were too many one punch tries but when he was sharp, good luck ever being able to get a half a second's recovery time against Iron Mike.
