Frank is a douche outside of the ring - but I really like his fight commentary on WEC. I've always been a Frank Mir fan because he is one of the best big men in jiujitsu in MMA.
That was impressive but didn't show us much. Good punch, but Frank can punch so nothing much new there really. Brock will still smash him the same.
Was that "dynamic" enough for everybody? What "mistake" did Kongo make on the ground? Did he "not respect" Mir's grappling, which is overrated anyway? What's your excuse now people, I want to hear them. Lucky punch? Will it come out that Kongo had AIDS and dengue fever?
Jesus, what more could he possibly have done in that fight? He dropped another guy who was going to destroy him standing, and then put him to ****ing sleep as soon as it hit the ground; literally, as soon as that fight was on the ground it was over. Pretty strange for a guy without "dynamic" submissions to end so many fights within seconds of laying his hands on people. What could he possibly have done better?
Mir won? :happy I'm glad. Mir was always one of my favorites. Sounds like he dominated Kongo pretty quick, eh? :think
What the **** is up your ass dude? Mir is vastly superior to Kongo. I don't think that any rational poster here is going to dispute that fact.
One left hand, one submission attempt, one unconscious Kongo. There are only a few guys in the world technical enough on their back to finish a guillotine like that without even really having a half guard, more like just a grapevined leg.
I agree, but there are quite a few irrational posters who I am paraphrasing about Mir not having a dynamic ground game, only subbing guys who make mistakes, only beating Nog because of illness (some merit to that, but you can only fight the guy in front of you), that his standup hasn't actually improved since it was all down to Nog, to Mir's ground game being overrated, and just generally totally underrating Mir. I'd like to take this time to childishly tell them to go **** themselves. This content is protected Again, notice how he finishes the guillotine, there is a small handful of fighters who could finish it from that position. Some do it for the sake of underrating Mir, some do it for the sake of underrating Lesnar; both are quite clearly irrational.
I'm just saying it didn't give us a chance to see much. It showed us that Mir can punch, which is old news. It was impressive for sure but is he actually better? Tough to say when the fight was over so quick
