Well I assume since the article mentions FM Sr.'s recent outburst about Pac, the thinking goes something like this: - There's no way that Pac could have moved up the weights retaining his speed and power - Implies that he has been on the juice - Ergo if he's not, the Mayweather's are surprised at how powerful he really is at the weight - Thus the Mayweather's are afraid of Pac's power (hence aren't convinced it's all by natural means). Maybe you could substitute afraid with concerned/suprised if your a real FMJ fan or want to be a pansy-lawyer-type. But you get the point.
Mayweather doesn't blink anymore b/c he's afraid of missing a Pac overhand left. He also only craps in a squatter since he's afraid of losing focus over Pacquiao if he uses the regular can. You're right, you can come up with loads of these.
Biggest fight in the history of the sport. Olympic style drug testing for both teams is perfectly reasonable. Someone must be ****ing ******ed to disagree.
There's nothing wrong with wanting better testing, though I'm not sure if testing the myriad of different methods of masking blood doping is gonna improve anything. I'm not sure blood doping has made any inroads into boxing. This smacks more of nuisance request than to actually improve the sport. EPO testing based on what is in the Olympics and Cycling is on the level of Nazi regimes. There are also cases of false positives, mishandling of samples, and bias. I don't see the Mayweather's ever being vocal about improving test methods, nor as lobbyist and other roles to improve the method. And as far as Team Pac, there was no hesitation. Roach stated: "Mayweather's side wanted it because the expert over there, Mayweather Sr., says Manny is on steroids to get bigger." Roach is certain that he and his fighter Pacquiao (who has already passed every drug test in his career so far) have nothing to hide. "I have no problem with the testing whatsoever," stated Roach. Roach knows that his star pupil Pacquiao will pass the drug and blood tests with flying colors and feels that Mayweather's side is scared of Pacquiao and his power. "They can do whatever kind of drug testing they want," stated Roach to ESPN, adding: "They're scared of Manny and scared of his power. He'll pass any test in the world."
I think all title fights should include olympic style testing imo. Im sure Pacquiao will pass easily also, as will Money. But with fights like this, it is far too big to ignore.
People tend to think of WADA and their testing as mainly using blood tests, but that's a very ignorant understanding of their system. What WADA does is basically strips the athletes of their rights while the system is in place. This system isn't something you just do, its on the order of martial law that is put in place and it rules supreme. It combines scientific analysis with physical search and seizure. You have to imagine the widely publicized trials and tribulations that Lance Armstrong has to endure. By this past June, the man was tested 40 times in 2009 alone. These tests consisted of blood and urine analysis, but the real kicker is that how they are taken. The testers can at any random time force you out of bed at any time, search your home police style, and if you are not home when they arrive they can and will mark that as a positive against you. The other thing is, steroids are not untraceable. However, pharmaceutical EPO is indistinguishable from natural hormones hence why WADA does all these Nazi tactics. I really wonder if this is all necessary. There hasn't been a rash of boxers dieing from cardiac arrests, or other heart ailments. One of the side effects of EPO, is the change in viscosity of your blood due to raised RBC's. What happens is when the viscosity is raised, you can suffer cardiac arrest in your sleep. Many cyclists have died due to strange heart ailments which goes hand in hand with EPO use. Is there a history of healthy boxers dieing from heart disease like in other EPO ridden sports?
