Good poll mate. I'd have to say Burns but not by much. He's the one heading in the direction of a world title and a winnable one at that. But he will need to severely up his game on his last performance to beat Martinez should the fight happen. A close second is Simpson. He's got momentum at the moment and is going places. Tough as nails, improving all the time isn't too far away from a shot at the European title against the Ukranian Yefimoych. The fight most of us want to see is v Lindsay but that could be six months away at the least. Depends on what route he wants to for first. I would then say Appleby. He needs to get back in the mix but he's still young. The Lindsay fight should be a great learning curve for him. What odds on Simpson v Appleby for the European title late 2010? I'd then say Arthur. The Wright defeat was a bad loss but not a disaster. I can see Warren matching him in a big title fight where he'd be seen as a big underdog but a dangerous one at that. He's not finished. But if by the end of next year he is not in the mix and suffers one or two more defeats then I think he'll call it a day. Fifth is a tie. Simply because I think Limond and Mcallister have to fight each other. Both men have the tools to beat each other. May the best man win. A big Scottish fight that would sell out in Glasgow or Aberdeen. Plus I'm still not convinced by Lee. The only way he gets a rematch with Murray is if he brings a recognisable world title to the table. And finally Brawley. No disgrace in being at the bottom. You've put him in good company MIK. He'll hopefully get a British title eliminator this year. His lack of power concerns me though.
And I hope Kenny Anderson and Kris Hughes are in your poll next year mate. And if it's renamed top scottish fighter and not top fighter in Scotland then I hope Craig Mcewan gets a spot too.
John Simpson. He has improved a hell of a lot in a short space of time. His performance in Newcastle was quality imo and I spoke to Billy Nelson and he can still make super bantam weight. He'll be dangerous for anybody at that weight.
Scotty Harrison. Until he comes back & gets beat, or he gets out of the jail & doesnt get his license back & is forced to retire, hes still Scotlands top fighter at the moment.

I kinda agree with you there, but dont think McAllister would be an easy match for Willie, or anyone in britain to be honest, he is a tricky character for sure. Willie would handle McArthur at the minute though, but Gary is improving
I think that Burns is the best in Scotland... I like Simpson but think that when he comes up against a quality operator that can really jab and move he will be undone a lot easier than people will think...:yep I hope that I am proved wrong...
