Roy Jones JR vs Danny "The Machine" Green. Who wins and Why?

Do you know who Hopkins is? The last thing i'd call him is sloppy, he is a master of technique and timing.

I have never seen a fighter more disciplined in the ring than Bhop. His picture perfect stance is just a thing of beauty. His stance in the 36 minute mark of the fight is the exact same as the first minute.

 

Apart from when he was getting dry butt ****ed by Calzaghe , his stance looked "Suspect" in that instance imo ..

 

He's a master of the Elbows and faking injury to buy his lungs some time thats what he's the master of . everyone keeps on about how he is cheating father time etc No imo he is cheating himself and dickheads who buy into his **** , Joe would have battered the ***** if he hadn't resorted to illegal tactics and Pavlik was a Middle weight fighting nearer L/heavy, means fark all that i hope Green turns the old ****er off at the mains .

I know he's good at what he does, but most of the time its messy. He looked great against Pavlik though!

 

Is it my imagination or has the poll attached to this thread continued to grow in Green favor since the fight has taken place....my estimate had Green at close to 30% before the fight, he is now near on 40%....pretty soon he'll be even money and half a chance to win....Go Greeny!!!!!

Who is Danny “The Green Machine” Green?
Not many American fight fans knew who he was until he knocked out Roy Jones Jr. in the first round two weeks ago in his native Australia.
Green, the reigning IBO cruiserweight champion, was supposed to be nothing more than a tune up fight for Jones before his much anticipated rematch with Bernard Hopkins. But Jones was shockingly upset by Green.
Ironically, Green won the cruiserweight title stopping Julio Cesar Dominguez only a few short months ago, on the undercard of the Jones versus Jeff Lacy pay-per-view event.
“I won the IBO cruiserweight title against a little known Argentinean (Dominguez),” said Green. “He was a tough guy, but I took care of business. That’s what set the whole thing up. What I have always wanted to do is to make a name for myself and to put bread and butter on my family’s table. So then to take Jones out in one round, I am very proud of that!”
While Green took care of Jones in one round, across the globe in Philadelphia, forty-four year old Bernard Hopkins defied Mother Nature and dominated rugged Enrique Ornelas over twelve rounds on the same day.

Upon hearing of a disaster of his future opponent during his post-fight interview (telecast live on the VERSUS network), Hopkins claimed that the bout “Down Under” was stopped prematurely and that Jones should have been given a chance to get back into a fight considering his legendary status.
Unfortunately for Hopkins, he might be the only person who still wants to see a rematch with Jones materialize.
Last Friday, according to Green, as he was leaving the Acer Arena in Sydney, the venue where he retired Jones for all practical purposes, the Aussie warrior ran into Larry Mullen, a personal friend of Hopkins.
As they chatted about his fight with Jones and the Hopkins bout, Mullen left a voice message for his friend Hopkins. Then Green got an idea and told Mullen: “I want to leave a voice message too!”
Green left a message to Hopkins stating: “Hey Bernard, its Danny Green calling. You called me a tomato can; you called me a few things. That’s cool. You are a legend. I respect you. I just knocked out your nemesis in one round. Let’s do this. Let’s make this fight happen. If you are serious, please call me and let’s do this.”
The idea to fight Hopkins soon took on a life of its own!
A week later Green flew to California to meet with American promoter Gary Shaw.
This past Saturday, Green and Shaw met the press at a restaurant at the Aqua Caliente Casino - a few hours before Timothy Bradley defended his title against challenger Lamont Peterson at the casino - to discuss the potential of fighting Hopkins.
“It’s all kind of fits in together,” said Green. “Scratch Roy’s name off the contract, put my name in, add a few zeros and we got a deal.”
“It makes sense to me to stay at cruiserweight,” said Green considering the weight issue. “It would make sense for Bernard too, since he could move up in weight and win a new title.”
When asked what it would mean to fight Hopkins, Green replied: “He is such a cagey old fox. For me personally to take down two legends in a row, it would be……..Forget pinching myself, I would have to shoot myself! It would be amazing!”
“Once Danny gives me the go ahead, I will contact Richard Schaefer,” said Shaw. “I would like to get HBO involved also and to see what they are willing to pay.”
Would Santa Clause bring Danny Green his wish this Holiday season and set up a fight with the living legend Hopkins?
