Agreed. Floyd is just not an effective trash talker, and even though he tries to come across a certain way... his whole act seems forced.

Floyd is what he is. A brilliant fighter, and a shitty personality. Thats not to say I think he's a complete ***** or anything, I just feel like he tries entirely too hard to be something he's not.

One minute he wants the public to love him the way they did Ali, and Leonard... but its not gonna happen. Other times he wants to come across as the baddest man on the planet like Tyson was.... and thats not gonna happen either.

I'm a Floyd fan... but he really needs to just do what he does best.... fight.

Leave the **** talking to his ignorant, but funny ass Uncle.

i could see myself having an intelligent conversation with ali. floyd, on the other hand, would bore me in about 5 minutes. he is too ordinary and only teen hip hop kids can relate to his "swagger". he has all the emotional responses of a child. notice how his comments about pac are all catty type comments you would expect from a teenage girl. try arguing with a 12yo and you will see the exact kind of responses floyd makes when someone threatens his insecurities.

You guys are ****ing idiots, really most of you are, Floyd throws money on the camera, talks **** about opponents, thinks hes the best but somehow hes worse than a guy who joined the nation of islam(a group which i have no problem with)a group who DO NOT like white people and a guy who used the slave mentality to degrade joe frazier, called him an uncle tom, the same thing people called MLK and Obama, who happen to be positive black people.

Oh but Floyds bad because he thinks hes the best and throws money on a camera.

    You guys are pricks.

Thats the funny thing. Mayweather's whole persona and trash talking is harmless. Yet he is a thug. When Floyd robs a ****ing bank then you can call him a petty thug. Dressing a certain way you uptight judgmental square ass pricks dont dictate who you are. If thats the case 80% of all women in the club are whores.. lol

Everybody on here keeps saying they dont like Mayweather's personality but all you mostly hear from those who know him personally and have spent time with him is that he is a good guy.

Ali was looked at FAR worse than Mayweather today back when he talked trash, in the long run he started to sound funny because people took everything he said seriously yet STILL had his share of haters that wanted him to get knocked the hell out. Usually the real judgment shines when the fighter is retired and missed by the public. I remember people literally looking down on Ali when he made interviews back before he fought Liston and was rising on the scene, he was also insulted and called the "Louisville Lip", that nickname might sound funny and understandable today but back then it came with pure hate. No matter what the majority will ALWAYS hate on a cocky, confident and successful athlete, actor, musician..etc, that's the way it is.

Remember how people used to claim RJJ is delusional, totally not funny and has no character whatsoever back then?, look how people laugh at his jokes now and appreciate his presence. It happens to all successful stars whether in boxing, another sport or another profession.

Spoken like a true Floyd groupie.

May just plain and simple has no charisma! He has NONE of Ali's wit, humor, and charisma.

And you cant compare Roy to Floyd. Roy never really was much of trash talker, nor did he try to be. He did boast about himself, but he was far more likeable than Floyd. He was extremely arrogant, and cocky in his fighting style... but thats about it. Plus Roy is an articulate speaker. Floyd isnt.

In the end his main target is attention, whether negative or not, that's what brings the real money and his PPV numbers don't lie. He plays the bad guy good otherwise haters wouldn't be literally obsessed with anything he says. His style isn't the most fun to watch when it comes to casual fans and casual fans are far more than hardcore ones so he has to play that kind of character to get attention and it works, this is the business side of the sport.

Pacman can afford not doing that not because he's forced not to, hell no, he just doesn't like to and isn't forced to do it either. He has an exciting style and whether he talked trash or not fans will tune in.

Yes, because calling a well spoken, hard working black man with a family in the 70s an uncle tom and a gorilla is completly hilarious, especially when considering the people who you are doing it infront of probably call you the same thing plus worse on a daily baises.:thumbsup

I never compared him to Ali, dickhead.

You're clearly a noob ass ****** that won't even know certain names I mention that Ali fought or was planning to so please don't play the "I know it" game, your post history isn't hidden, you're a clueless nutcase. Ali was also insulted and hated in his time, even more than Mayweather today, that's what made him the greatest, proving everyone wrong and him right. Do you even know about the incident where Ali was being questioned about his predictions being accurate and somehow making the sport look like it's fixed then he went in and told people "I don't even know who my next opponent is but what would you say if I told you I'll drop him in round 6?", people laughed, mocked and boo'd. He also called his self the greatest right there in their faces and they also boo'd laughed and looked at him like he's delusional.

Thank me later for sharing information I'm positive you have no ****ing idea about.
