Although the market has decreased dramatically since its heyday in the mid-80's, close to thirteen million Americans still think nothing about occasionally buying a gram of cocaine, a few hits of ecstasy or a quarter ounce of weed to party with their friends on the weekends. A hard core group estimated at between 5 and 6 million have more serious drug habits, and may spend $100-$500 dollars a week on purchasing their drugs. These two groups - hard core users and casual users - spend approximately $60 billion dollars a year, according to U.S. government estimates.

Imagine a typical weekend in New York City. Experts estimate that at least one percent of the population - 80,000 plus - spends $200 on illicit drugs. That alone would amount to $16 million dollars a week or $832 million a year. And that's just New York.

Koncz: Floyd should go to church

The Canadian adviser of Manny Pacquiao said on Monday that “Floyd Mayweather simply has to go to church regularly to know where the Filipino’s vaunted strength and power come from.” Reacting to a statement made by Mayweather’s handlers that Pacquiao should undergo an Olympic-Style drug testing in the weeks leading to their March 13, 2010 fight, Mike Koncz said he welcomes Leonard Ellerbe’s demand that such tests be done to ensure that the two fighters are clean when they finally collide. “It’s amusing,” said Koncz from General Santos City, home of Pacquiao. “There’s no problem with that but if he wants to get an answer right away, he better visit the church so he’d know why.” Ellerbe is one of two key Mayweather advisers. The other is Al Haymon. Top Rank and Golden Boy Promotions are in the final stages of finalizing the Pacquiao-Mayweather bout that is expected to break box-office and PPV records.

Floyd is just scared of Pac... too many excuses....

was this a new demand from the mayweather's camp? wasn't all the previous demands that floyd's camp and were talked already by shaefer and arum and was presented to pac when bob flew to the philippines weeks ago? i assume this was already in their demands and pac has agreed to the terms including the march 13 date. if this is a new demand yet again from floyd's camp, then they are being bitchy for adding new demand each week. by the way roach seemed ok with the idea just to satisfy ellerbe and company.

but this steroids would not pass the system. it was the designer drugs that comes from america or other capable nation with advance labs and methods that would bypass the system.
