Well I'll be willing to avatar bet you on the result. Either way should be a good contest. I really do think that Vitali looked like all the hulking his massive frame through training and all the injurys had finaly caught up with him. I thought his movement was awful.

We'll just have to wait and see but I think Haye wins this if it happens within the next 6-9 months.

Haye would be the underdog for sure.

I had trouble seeing how he would beat Valuev and predicted a Valuev win, but Haye impressed me a lot with his lateral movement and concentration so think he'd fight a similar way again, but would have to do more for me.

I find it difficult to think of Haye outlanding Vitali for round after round though, in the same way that he didn't Valuev so winning clearly on points seems very difficult unless he can score the eye-catching shots, big right hands and then get on the bike again. Seems unlikely to me to do enough to win a fight though.

The way that Vitali closes the distance but leans back to avoid punches is going to be a nightmare for Haye so he's going to have to take more risks and stand and trade at times more than with Valuev. He kind of did that at times with the fight v Mormeck when Booth was counting the punches, one or two exchanges a round and latteral movement for the rest of it maybe

If he boxes as he did against Valuev, Vitali will be more active and take the points decision.

If he trades he gets KTFO.

I see Vitali in whatever circumstances.

I'd take you up on an avatar bet....

Im sure Booth will have ideas on how to win but I just think when Haye gets in the ring, the plan will be near impossible to execute.

This will more than likely be Vitali's last fight and I cant see him going out on a defeat.

Haye wont be able to run and pot shot. Vitali cuts the ring down too well for that

Haye wont be able to trade. Vitali hits too hard for that.

I just cant see an effective plan out there.

Vitali didn't hit hard on Saturday night. He was pushing his punches and looked like his timing had gone. I accept that this could have been a one off but to me it looked like age.

I don't think Vitali will want the power that Haye has touching him. And as for Vitali's lean back tactics I would counter that Haye did manage to hit Valuev on the head. And also the woeful johnson did get some head shots off. If Haye hits Vitali on the head he will know about it!

    Avatar bet is on!!!

Loser has to change his avatar to the choice of the winner!

...Why do posters feel the need to put a fighter down consistantly on this place? This PK *** sits on his ass all day, doing nothing anyone is ever going to remember after he dies, and he's criticising Haye for Boxing cautiously against a 7'2 giant to become Heavyweight champion of the world? Boggles the mind. :nut It's probably Amir Khan is disguise...or perhaps an ex-girlfriend.

David Haye broke his hand in the 2nd round. Video evidence is proof of this, and yet you still put it to the back of your mind. Smarten up.

The reality is, David Haye has knocked out the vast majority of his opponents during his career. He has proven to be very exciting and explosive...when he isn't fighting a 7'2 man mountain who's head looks like its made of stone. Haye did what he had to do to win, and if that can't be appreciated if not respected, something is severely wrong here.

Side note. If you had the same card as Jim Watt it serves as further proof that you're completely incapable of judging a Boxing match. Take up golf.

It'd be a pretty boring place if everyone shared the same opinions??

Haye was effective that night but the fight stunk. The fight was close but Haye had the power and skills to make it far more comfortable than he did.

I think Haye deserves some sort of slack for that performance because he just did enough and no more to win. He had the right game plan but come on,there were rounds where he threw nothing.

I think Haye's going to have to throw a lot more punches in a fight with Vitali and in doing so I think that his stamina will become far more of a factor than it was for the Valuev fight.

Going back to something mentioned earlier, due to the rigidity of the 10 point must system should a boxer who lands a couple of more punches in a round really automatically be awarded it? - all other things being equal of course.
