“I know I maybe was a white fighter, an English fighter, maybe I would have been a superstar in Britain, or even in the world''

    Taken out of context?

    Ok buddy.

That wasn't a backtrack, it was an attempted clarification

Up until recently, he can hardly have complained because people werent treating him as a superstar. Just because he won an Olympic Silver medal, nobody cares if your telling the world your going to be the youngest ever world champion and then carry on fighting nobodies. Getting knocked down by an ancient Gomez and then getting KO'd in one round to Prescott is hardly going to get the British public supporting you and treating you as some sort of legend.

I respect Khan for how he's come back from the Prescott disaster and I like him as a fighter and hope he goes on to do very well.

I just don't get what he keeps moaning about? If he shut up, then he'd realise the British public are taking to him and that if carries on like this he will eventually, be rightfully, held as a boxing superstar.

Just because you won an Olympic silver medal and have million £ in the bank, doesn't automatically mean the boxing world has to fall at your feet.

You have to earn the support. Khan appears to be doing that now.

Just a silly comment, not like he is Scott Harrison beating up his girlfriend.

Seems to me the lad can't win. He's just a kid,and his imaturity makes him a little too honest for his own good. He was basically just stating a fact of life that i bet every one of you has heard more than once when people discuss Kahn in the pub or at work. There are people who dislike Kahn because of his heritage. Fact. The Hatton-Pac weigh in was proof of that. It's the ****s who right **** like this and put words in the kids mouth and fuel this **** who get on my tits. I for one would'nt blame Kahn for ****in off to the states.

The reason people don't like him is because he's a knob end. He really needs to think before he says things, especially to the press.

i personally think he has huge popularity,if he wasn't Muslim/Pakistani, would he have all the Pakistanis following him around Britain, err,no.(he certainly wouldn't have thousands of Muslim/Pakistanis following him if he was white)
on the evidence in Newcastle he was cheered to ****,i thought it was superb, the people(white and Pakistani)cheered to high heaven,
let it go amir,u sound extremely bitter sometimes, and you have nowt to be bitter about:good
theres haters in every walk of life, get over it:deal

There is a lot of racists, there is also a lot of people who paid 15 bucks to see him get sparked in a round. That's another of the main reasons he is hated.
