After watching the first 3 to 4 fights of a few of the so called Olympians I can't see what the fuss has been about.

Degale as mentioned on numerous threads has to date looked poor in every fight. The guy can throw a decent punch and I doubt the general public buy into all his b/s spin.

Billy Joe Saunders always looks out of shape, I don't understand what he is doing at SMW and unless he starts training and shifting those pounds what will he ever achieve.

Without a good following a fighter is nothing these days. Pay days rely on big crowds and more importantly television money. I can't see the likes of Degale ever being PPV material and for that reason I think as soon as his initial contract is up Warren will dump him.

Warren's banking on them maturing into attractions, irrespective of their abilities. He can keep them fighting till about 22-0 before they face a serious challenge, keep them on TV, and push them that way.

Saunders is a strange case - he's got a lot of ability, but fighting at SMW is just weird when he looks tubby. He should be at 154 if possible where his power will be more pronounced.

That's a good point...154 would be much better. Maybe they are getting the rounds in the bank and some experience in the paid rank before he starts boiling down for the tougher opposition on the horizon...:think

Warren has already invested too much money in them.

I suspect that they'll be taken along the tried and tested path created for Hatton and Calzaghe and carefully managed into significant fights in a few years time.

Degale, though, is a huge risk because he is going to be exposed by someone decent as soon as he meets them.

I think the sooner Degale switches trainers the better...:yep

But who is the trainer that will make the difference... I think Jimmy Tibbs or Johnny Eames would be two good options...:good

I think he will keep them and build them up to at least being British title contender standard.

Just as Lee Mc said, there has been far to much money ploughed in to ditch these fighters now...

Plenty of TV money and well guided contests will claw this money back and the dice will he rolled when it makes cash common sense and not before...:yep

Well Frankie Gavin is the obvious exception. He's been very impressive since his first fight.

DeGale has poor technique and is too hittable. I hope they can sort him out.

Saunders just shouldn't be fighting at Super-Middle, even accounting for him growing into a man. He should be at 154.

What they really need is to sign up with a promoter with a good tv deal and who can get them fights against shot legends fighting 1 or 2 divisions above their natrual weight.

Sounds like wishful thinking. It's frustrating too, he has real potential.

I never thought degale would make a good pro i do think that saunders and gavin will make brittish championship level no problem all they need is more experiance and it will come . i do think warren will give them plenty of time and as long as they sell tickets they cant lose .

He does have real potential and if we like I or not they will do it regardless of what we think or not... They will all be matched, get the TV exposure, money that comes with it and ring experience...They will decide when he fights and a what weight...

Do you think he will go the furthest...?...:think

DeGale can win one of the big four & BJS can be a force @ 160 lbs.

But the only one who’s got the minerals to reign undisputed is the namesake.

Frankie's unreal, He'll do great, He's made fantastic progress with every single fight, Also 1 of Franks biggest ticket sellers without doubt!!

Chunky is very deciving, He'll do well BUT is in a tough weight on the world scene so I don't know what will happen when he steps up??

BJS is a great talent, I agree he's fighting at wrong weight but why drain himself for 4 and 6 rounders, I believe it'll do him good fighting these heavier guys, Getting rounds in is a blessing it really is!!

I don't think Frank will be giving up any of them!! There would be more chance of hell freezing over!!:good
