PBF went up to 154 to fight Oscar on his terms at a weight he had no business at and a fresher Oscar as well first. Pac fought a Oscar who was drained even by Freddy's own admission about IV marks and Oscar not being able to pull the trigger anymore at a weight he hadn't fought at since 2001.:deal

PBF beat Zab first he was never hurt and hit or busted up like Cotto was against Zab nor did he have to low blow him to buy time. Cotto stopped Zab which was impressive but PBF systematically broke Zab down and was on his way to stopping him until he was fouled by Zab to buy time.

PBF beat Hatton first in an underrated clinic in which he figured Hatton out beat him at his own game broke him down and made him dance with the ring post. PBF also beat an undefeated Hatton who was full of confidence and was fresher. Pac beat him by second round KO which was equally impressive.

In the end it all comes down to styles PBF is a defensive counter-puncher so he takes less risks offensively and looks to outbox and make you miss. While Cotto and Pac are more offensively minded and want to get you out of there as soon as possible. Two different styles with the same common goal wining.
