I take it you've not heard Floyd's conspiracy theories regarding Mixed Martial Arts? That it's a sport designed by the white man, to cater to white people because they've failed in the skilled and intelligent art of boxing? Here it is:

I'm not trying to suggest Floyd indeed is a racist, I'm merely pointing out the fact that Floyd himself is not a complete angel in regards to his views on racial issues. Furthermore, he once accused HBO of being racist, suggesting they don't acknowledge black fighters like they should.

Oh and another thing I find funny with some of the posters here. Many of you have mentioned your disgust at Ali's past commenst on Frazier being an Uncle Tom......but would the same people care to tell me who the following quote is by?

    Anyone?

Look Floyd is simply not funny, nor is his public person likeable. As i don't know (nor do you probably) how he is in person i can't comment on that, but if you are gonna talk trash, at least make it entertaining. Ali was funny. A ***** in many ways, but he was funny.

How was Ali not abrasive? He was just as big a ***** as Mayweather pretends to be. Terrific fighter, but a *****.

Why don't you read the ****in' post, dude.

I would have thought this bit might have given you a clue:

Not everbody on here lives in Uncle Sam's fair land.

None of us gave a **** that he didn't join the US army.

Joe Louis joined, and a lot of ****in' thanks he got from the US IRS.

**** off yourself. And learn how to read.

That's entirely a matter of opinion.

And on a worldwide basis (and probably an American basis too), a MINORITY opinion.

Hang on..... lets compare oranges with oranges.......

USA was differant country back in Alis time..... words like Negro and Uncle Tom weren't considered so bad and politically incorrect..... or what i should say there was a differant level/criteria for Political correctness.... like there is for every differant time and place.

There were times when ***gots could be discriminated, women could not vote and there were differant standards for right and wrong........ Our criteria changes from time and place..... So .....

It is completely incorrect for people here to compare Mayweathers Uncle Tom comment and Alis. Said in differant times with differant standards and differant circumstances.

What you can say, is the impact and influence they have had globally as people and sportsman.... Ali would rank in the top 10 most influential sportmen in the last 100 years..... Money May wouldn't even reach the top 100

STFU? Have manners. Outsells UFC ? So what. We are comparing Ali to Mayweather here, and Mayweather is a joke. He is joke compared to Hearns and Leonard also. He is a complaining bitter guy who thinks he is great because he says so. Ali proved it in the ring, his extra antics just added to his reputation as a great entertainer and boxer. As for your STFU comment, either you are young which excuses you for such nonsense or you are older and just don't have any sense at all. Floyd is not an Ali or any great fighter with a great attitude or charisma. He is a crybaby who handpicked all his opponents. It was better when he was not in the game. When he came back then we all knew it was a ploy all that time avoid tough fights. I really did not want him to come back. I like fighters like Cotto who fight them all and don't complain or brag. Look at the great fighters like Ali or Hearns or Hagler or Pacman. Part of what makes them great is how they improved the sport. Mayweather improved nothing.

Then look at the resumes and see the difference. Ali fought them all and Mayweather didn't.

That has nothing to do with their actual or perceived personalities, which is what I thought this thread was about. :huh

Of course Ali has a better resume than Mayweather, what does that have to do with the price of tea in China?

ok lets eliminate their careers (which is hard) since there are many fighters with great personalities who are not good fighters, and we do not know who they are really or care. When the resume matches the personality that is when it makes an impact. Ali had a great personality and was brilliant and positive. People got a good feeling watching him and the way he acted. Floyd is bitter and complains, and the fact that he does not have much of a resume makes people wonder why he is complaining. Ali was positive and charismatic. Mayweather is bitter and jealous. How are they similar? I do not see it.

Ali talked **** but backed it up.

Mayweather talks **** then fights Lightweights.

Theres a difference, it has nothing to do with color.
