Yey Brian Nielsen went 49-0 before losing in his 50th fight to Dickie Ryan, he was later kod by Tyson, but he actually had a few good wins over an Old Witherspoon, Holmes and he also beat jeremy Williams but most of his wins were over Lower level europeans.

Lamar Clark got to 43-0, mostly against guys making their pro debuts. Then he lost to a few guys who weren't very good or just starting their careers, including as Ali's opponent in his fifth fight or so.

Joe mesi Ko'd TOS in 1 rd and owned Jirov for 8 rds...he also beat Monte Barrett when Barrett still had a pulse and even in his 1st 10 fights fought better fighters than David...Rodriguez has a long way to go to get to Mesi's level

Very true atleast Mesi was ranked and legitament. Though he had his share of problems like gassing and being decked.

I believe Ring Magazine listed David Rodriguez as "Most Protected" heavyweight in their State of the Game issue earlier this year.

protected or not, probably couldnt do any worse than Kevin Johnson.

And to be honest, I think this guy Rodriguez would at least have
    a dip.

I still think all these undefeated fighters need to be fighting
blokes like Toney, Tua, etc, tough fighters with experience that
    can prepare them for Vitali.

Sure - Brian Nielsen, Tye Fields, Lamar Clark - though the key word there is 'tried'.

He is now 36-0. Only 2 fights in 2011, beat Owen Beck in June, and a bum in December

Good to hear man, that's always been my knock on larger hispanic fighters....never looking the part, of course you can only invest a small percentage into a fighters physique. I was training and sparring for a while myself so I could break the mold but I could never drop below 190lbs Cruiser wasnt really appealing.

Most of his wins were over low level Americans. Only fought other euros in his first two pro years.

If he were promoted by Don King he would be the WBA Titleholder by now.

If he were promoted by Top Rank he would be WBC heavyweight champ after Vitali would have been stripped of his title by Suleiman after discovering that David Rodriguez is in fact Mexican, and rather than Vitali have the shot to win it back....David would be busy fight his mandatory title defense against Gabe "Big G" Brown.
