    But they do have testing. I think people are taking excpetion to Manny being subjected to testing outside the norm, just because it suits the Mayweathers. By all means look at overhauling the rules, but don't use Pacquiao as the guinea pig.

    We should push for all boxers to be tested not just Pac.

    roach said no blood 6 weeks before but it's okay weeks before that. i don't see why this is such an issue. if manny is juicing now, then the 6 week before clause is irrelevant

    Here are quotes from Ellerbe himself;

    “I’m not going to get into that,..But people can read between the lines. Al and I made sure this will be implemented. It is going to be done.”

    “It’s not a one-way thing, it’s both fighters who are subject to testing,” Ellerbe said. “And this is not Floyd saying this. This is me and Al. This is one of the biggest fights in the history of the sport and the fans deserve it to be fair."

    “Floyd’s got nothing to do with this. It’s our job to protect him and give him the best chance to be successful. Inside the ring, he’s got that. He’ll have no problem with Pacquiao, none whatsoever. Our job is to take care of things outside the ring.”

    Maybe you believe doesn't know what he's talking about, but I must assume that direct quotes from a guy involved in the negotiations are reliable.

    So to the question "why should Manny take a drug test, just because he was accused?"

    to that I'd say, well why does Barry Bonds need a drug tests? I mean just because he was putting up ridiculous numbers doesn't mean he was on roids! He never failed a drug test....why does he have to be so publicly scrutinized?

    It's not feasible. How can they possibly subject all boxers to that level of testing?

    gotta start somewhere right? why not Mayweather and Pacquiao first...here we can set a standard that can be carried on throughout the sport

    Have the contracts be signed? Do you not think their comments are a little slanderous? They intimate Pac is taking drugs.

    I'm not aganst there being a blood test but i understand Roach thinking "**** this we are not gonna take some blood tests just cause the Mayweathers are accusing us of using steroids." That's exactly how I would react in a similar situation. Its like the cops asking to tap into my phone line and someone saying "If you have nothing to hide then you should just accept it." Well maybe I have nothing to hide but I don't want some assholes tapping into my phone conversations just cause I like my perfectly legal conversations to be private.

    There's alot of similar cases in life not just in boxing. Pac should not have to submit to more rigourous drug tests than other boxers just cause Mayweather wants him to. If a new rule comes out and all boxers are subject to the same rules, then thats fine.

    So basically, wether Pac decides to go through with the blood test or not, that decision is probably not based on wether or not he is trying to hide something, but rather on what i've explained above.

    terrible analogy...we are talking about a sport with an extensive history of fighters using illegal methods to win. Better analogy would be Barry Bonds saying why do I have to take an out-of-schedule steroid test? Just because I was putting up big numbers? Just because some people insist im on drugs?.....its all about the principle, lets take the friggin test, both guys will be clean and we can have a clean fight that wont have to be marred by speculation and rumor

    It seems to me that you're arguing just to be arguing. If you don't believe that it's been agreed to then fine. I don't think there's anything I can show you to change your mind. They didn't intimate anything except that the tests were being done in response to the accusations against Pac. He was asked if the tests were in response to recent accusations against Pac, and he said that they should read between the lines. There's nothing slanderous about that.
