Vitali is an all around the year athlete whilst Douglas is at Krispy Kreme, trying to eat himself to death, which he almost did. Meanwhile Buster had a good showing against Tyson, I think it was more Tyson looking bad than Buster looking superb. Buster Douglas somehow beat McCall, so Vitali may have competetive action in the early going, we all know Buster had terrible stamina though and would wilt under Vitalis immense pressure. Vitali TKO late.
Douglas was able to put together a great fight for ONE night, otherwise he's very mediocre. This is a guy who lost to Mike "The Giant" White, remember. Never heard of him? There's a reason for that!!! Vitali would embarrass him on most nights and closely outpoint even at his Tyson best.
CLOSE ? CLOSE ?? CLOSE ??? atsch What is "close" between them for God's sake? Send me a bag of what ever you're smoking, please :rasta
I will say one thing tho, Buster would not run like that homo "Johnson" or close his eyes at every single flinch or feint. Just sayin'..
In terms of skills, Douglas was very good. He had one of the most under-rated jabs in HW history, a very nice 1-2, and the stick & move strategy he was able to employ against Tyson worked excellently. Douglas was very inconsistent and it took a lot to get him motivated which is why he never really achieved all that much compared to others, and why at times against opposition he shouldn't have. I suggest you go and watch him fight at his best, rather than trounce though Boxrec looking at who he lost to. Vitali isn't exactly the greatest technical HW either.
no way, klitschko outworks him the whole fight and scores a late tko. Buster was just lucky that he was peaking against a bad tyson that night. And he still was lucky to get the long count. His stamina is one of the main reasons i see him being done in the late rounds against vitali.
well, Buster was fighting in an era of great HWs and Klitschko is just one of the best boxers in dark ages of HW boxing so I was wondering. It would be a close matchup, very evenly matched
Wrong. Buster was fighting in an overrated (by americans of course) hw division which had ups and downs just like any other eras of the hw division including this one. (or the one before , of the one from the 60's, 50's , 40's etc...).
While it's true that Douglas was a journeyman before schooling Prime Mike Tyson brutally, he was a journeyman in an era when greats like Greg Page, David Jaco, and Pinklon Thomas dominated the HW scene. He gets knocked out by Vitali inside of 5 rounds.
I am not an American, and how can you say overrated. 3 ATGs very fighting in that era, now we have none.
