No, Ive always maintained the guy was a lightweight who punches like a welterweight. Now hes got the extra poundage to put behind that power and speed. I dont think hes anymore than a welterweight banger though, and that could expose some of his shortcomings once he starts fighting the technically better welters, and Floyd is the tops.
I wouldnt even put him in with a guy like Yuri Foreman before Floyd, Roach is nuts for saying they win that fight easy. A 5"11 mobile junior middleweight? That could create all sorts of problems.

It was also believed for hundreds of years that the earth is flat, that leaching legit medicine, that Elvis lives outside of Vegas, St.Mary appears in the form of a potato chip to Mexicans, you are an adult, Strum Thurmond hates black woman, Obama is Muslim, etc.

I can play that game too you know.

1- wrong. he is in the camp. Also Floyd Mayweather Jr has publicly insinuated it.

2- Malignaggi's name is neither here not there. When it comes to this fight his opinion counts as much as mine or yours.

3- They owe it to the fans to follow the rules of the sport. Nothing more and nothing less.

4- If that's the case then there should be a clear rule for it. This time, the demand came from Pacquiao's opponent, not from the commission.

5- So? Guilt by association is bull****. Noone has accused Roach of providing steroids to any of his fighters, much less convicted him.

6- Its a matter of principle. Check my previous posts. Thinking that someone who doesn't want to take the test is automatically gonna fail it is a logical fallacy.

Why are you so against the drug testing? Why is anybody so against the drug testing? You'd think you guys would be more concerned with the fight being fair, but instead, or more concerned with Pacquiao's image. Pretty pathetic if you ask me, and some serious nut-hugging is going on.

Who cares who started the rumors? Take the tests and it is a done deal, rumors stopped. Both fighters are subject to testing, so Pacquiao and his fans have nothing to cry about.

And I brought up Freddy Roach training James Toney not because of guilt by association, but to point out that Roach doesn't exactly know everything that goes on with his fighter. Basically, just because Roach says his guy isn't doing illegal PEDs does not make it so.

Bladerunner is no Floyd lover by any means and he even said: As long as both fighters take the same tests i dont see any problem with it.

Roach fell into the mayweather trap with that statement. It gives floyd more negotiating power. Same with the weight issue- roach talks about going up to 154 to face Yuri then has to agree to 147 not catchweight.

Sometimes roach speaks before he thinks- not sure if the parkinsons affects what words he chooses etc I think they should have called floyds bluff- he needs this fight.

They're against it because they don't want to see their favorite fighter get caught, (not just Pac, but any persons favorite fighter)

I would hope not. Its taken me a long time but ive finally become a believer in Pac. Hes successfully gone through the weights maintaining speed and power, Roy Jones & James Toney did that and it turned out they were on performance enhancing drugs, maybe the signs were there when you have former MW champs fighting at world level in the HW division.

you haven't understood anything I've said.

I'm not against drug testing at all. I'm all for rigorous drug testing in boxing.

I'm not concerned with Pacquiao's image either. If I were, I would want him to take the test.

Starting rumours like that is bad for the sport. I care who starts the rumours because their actions are tarnishing the image of my favorite sport.

The fact that you think Roach doesn't know exactly whats going on with his fighter should further convince you that if he doesn't want Pac to take the tests, its not because he knows that Pac would fail them.

    I understood you fine.

However, you guys arguing "principles" have nothing to base this on. As a "professional athlete" you give up some of those privacy rights and are required to be tested for PEDs. It really is that simple.... if you want your privacy and your "principles", don't be a professional athlete and a superstar.

You also made the comment that they are not required to do anything but follow the rules of the sport. I disagree with this because they are not just some regular boxers, they are essentially the face of boxing right now. They should be putting in EXTRA EFFORT to expell all doubts, not adding fuel to the fire. Especially given the problem with PEDs in other sports.

"The fact that you think Roach doesn't know exactly whats going on with his fighter should further convince you that if he doesn't want Pac to take the tests, its not because he knows that Pac would fail them."

I've never insinuated that Pacquiao would fail the test based on what Roach has said. I have been consistent the whole time: BOTH FIGHTERS SHOULD BE SUBJECT TO THE TESTS, PERIOD. It really is a non-discussion at this point. It has nothing to do with rumors, belief, Pac is doing roids, Floyd is doing roids, and whatever other excuses are out there. My reasoning is very simple: Test both to ensure a fair contest, that is it. Nothing more, nothing less.

This is one of the biggest fights in the last 20 years... I want to ensure both fighters are clean.
