yeah, and? wats ur point. the statement still stands. you can argue against that but what you cant is that tyson had better both in terms of having it in both hands, not just one.
Speaking of that knockdown, that shows you what happens when a fighter doesnt naturally come down to a low weight. Tua tried to look like a bodybuilder in that fight, and it sapped him, he was not in great shape regardless of what he looked like. That was the biggest problem with Tua, when he stopped fighting regularly his fitness really suffered. He was the kind of fighter that really needed to stay in the gym doing something year round.
He just cancelled his February fight because of "family reasons" so who knows what his motivation is for his comeback?
get your hand off it!!! the bottom line is that Tua has a massive punch on him and a freakin strong chin. he might get outboxed by some guys, but he's never out of the fight. tyson has been knocked out. tua has never even been hurt or shaken. Tua smashes everyone tyson beats, plus he demolishes buster douglass.
in the heavyweight division a big punch and a granite chin (its the best chin in history for mine) goes a very long way. tyson may have been more skilled, but tua would walk straight through him and put him the sleep. possibly very early in the fight since tyson is very aggressive
the big thing is that tua had a much better chin and was far more durable. this tips the fight in tua's favor, no matter how better tyson was technically. Tyson's just not tall enuff to keep tua away with the jab. tua walks straight through mike's combos and lands a bomb to put him out.
i agree. tua fell over after the bell, it was not a knock down. he was not hurt in any way and the fight finished a draw.
Tua versus Frank Bruno would be an interesting one. I'd also like to see how he would fare against "Bonecrusher" Smith.
I think Tua would have done well in the 80s, especially since he had a similar style to Tyson. (Although Tyson was better) The real question is...how would Rocky Marciano do in this era?
