As long as the March fight doesn't get cancelled it's still OK. I said before that a fight with Seldon would be pointless.
He can and needs to reschedule as soon as possible. Time is running out and he needs a meaningful fights to shed the ring rust.
Always the same for Tua and he is still the most exciting HW out there, even at 36 years old. After Cameron, a fight where Tua barelly got a workout, his team said there was a good chance he would be back in the ring by year's end. Then, 3 fights in 84 days, then nothing. It would not surprise me at all if Ahunanya's fight falls down too. Tua still has to fullfill his crappy 3 bouts Maori TV deal, you know. He should have fought a guy like Welliver in NZ by November/December, then kept the Seldon fight for February and then Ahunanya in late March or April. That way he would have rid him of the TV deal and got three decent fights to put him in the top of some organization ranking.
Exactly. Now is not the time to let ANYTHING get in the way of taking as many fights as possible. Unlike many, I was not particularly upset he was gonna starch Seldon, at least he was fighting. Even if he takes a string of tomato cans - which is basically what Seldon is at this point - like Foreman did, it is better than doing NOTHING!
Seldon would have kept Tua training and in condition. He's going to the gym 3 times a week, and is in good shape now. He was gonna step it up this week in anticipation of Seldon. Now it'll be the end of January. So it wasn't about Seldon as an opponent as much as keeping in shape, and continuing to get rid of ring rust. He's had less than 5 rounds in the ring in 2 years.
he needs to lose more weight and get in shape (the Tua from the Ruiz fight is a prime example on how he needs to get in shape).
Well there was big talk after his win against Cameron about facing a top ten opponent. Kushner said Meehan is not high enough calibre of opponent to face Tua in January. They ditched a fight in Dec against Friday and rubbished the idea of facing a top ten guy early 2010 (every man and his dog was calling him out in Dec). Then they anounce the bum of the month tour against Seldon, Friday, and TBA. Then that falls over. He fights Friday in March then what? Fights more bums? Then what? Kushner is a ****'n joke. Tua is a joke. He has never had any intention of facing any kind of contender, nor will he ever. He wants to knock out bums then get a title shot, just like every other homo in the top ten. I hope Tua NEVER gets a chance. The guy could go against anyone in the top ten and bang them out in two rounds. Yet he is so much of a Puss he won't face any of them before he gets a shot. He's a disgrace to boxing.
