Interesting. I didn't think about this but very true. Joe is definitely a top 5 heavyweight of all time. He is sadly overlooked.

Not definitely. Ali, Louis, Holmes, Foreman, Marciano, Johnson. Hard to argue he should be in front of any of them.

That was a very sad video to be honest. How in the **** are they about to put up a statue of a movie character...instead of Frazier. Unbelievable.

Yes this is total bullsht when any one thinks of the great Philly Boxers Fraizer is the first one that comes to mind. Georgie Benton and others were before him,but when you look up the rough and tuff guys from Philly, Joe Fraziers is the true pioneer and around that time thats when there werw ruff and tuff guys coming out the Philly factory. Lots of good fighters were known to leave their wars in the gym. Meldrick taylor comes to mind when i think of a fighter, that could have been a cutie with all the skills that he had, but nope:nono This kid used hid handspeed in a warrior way.
Im a big fan of all the Philly warriors from Benton to Hopkkins!
I know some smart ass might say Giardello but he started out in NY

Frazier was the one known for hitting the sides of beef and he was a Philadelphia Heavyweight even though he came from the south...he was raised as a fighter in Phillie but Rocky movies honored Phillie as well...The statue stuff is BS...Fiction or non fiction its all good why put a negative spin on it.

Actually, Rocky was based on Chuck Wepner vs Muhammad Ali where the great Ali was taking random contenders now and Wepner fought his little heart out and may have won that fight by a meer pinch if he would have stood around just for 2 more minutes through perseverence, but the giant marine of a man proved to be out from fatigue throwing punches and punches.

it says something about the lack of intelligence of the american people. putting up a statue of a person who isn't real. a movie character. hahaha. like rocky/rambo. all muscle no brains

Wepner was far from winning that fight, even if it went the distance.

Thats Wepners version of the story...Truth is Ali fought a lot of fighters that were not even rated in the top 20 of even fixed organizations and were hopeless. Chuck was one of them...Chuck was slow, Cut on command and really had zero power and zero defence....I spoke to Sly and he said the story was a combination of many storys of fighters getting a shot at the title..Some body up there likes me was another done 30 years before Rocky...Sly wrote it and he said it was not Wepner

Just for fun I did a search on Youtube on The Netherlands. Here's what I came up with:

Yeah, you guys have it going on over there. Add to that an underachieving soccer (football team) and the fact that I have a difficult time thinking of a prominent Dutch boxer and you probably should refrain from such comments.
