Hokins draws closer to a potential fight with danny green in oz

Taken from an article from "another" site.....Go Danny, it will be an exciting fight if it happens. Doesnt matter what the critics say about him Green comes to fight ...as follows:

Schaefer has no delusions of grandeur; he realizes that we are coming up to the year 2010, not 2002.

"Jones and Trinidad, I don’t think are realistic. Adamek, HBO has no interest in that fight. So that eliminates that," he explained. "Then you have Paul Williams. [Williams’ promoter] Dan Goossen called out Bernard. But the issue there [is] the weight. Bernard is not going to be able to go lower than 175 pounds; maybe give or take a couple pounds. So that eliminates Paul Williams. Chad Dawson is living in a dream world and I think he should keep on dreaming about the potential Hopkins fight. I wish him sweet dreams. So that one is eliminated as well.

Schaefer adds, "So then we basically have two guys; we have Bute and Green. And these are the two names we’re focusing on in the last two days. As a matter of fact, yesterday (Tuesday), I met with Danny Green in my office with his advisor, Gary Shaw, and we have been going through the numbers for a Hopkins fight happening in Australia and there is some interest from the networks for that fight, as well. Then we have been looking at a Bute fight. So I had conversations with Bute’s promoter, Interbox, and we have been going through those numbers, as well. There is interest from the networks for that fight."

To maximize his earning potential, Hopkins will most likely have to fight outside the United States.

HBO just doesn't seem to ever show cruiserweight fights. I'm not sure why they're not interested in Adamek. He's had some good fights on that network and fits the action profile of guys they usually like.

 

I'm good with Green or Bute, though. Hopkins has earned the right to fight for a check and those are both good tough fights. Bute is obviously more meaningful, particularly if he went down to 168, but I like either of them for B-Hop.

 

I'm happy for BHOP to come to Australia.

He'd be the greatest fighter since roy jones to hit out shores.

 

What a punk ass *****. He knows Bad Chad would give Hopkins is 2nd decisive loss of his career.

 

Bernards not stupid, Dawson is too good for him at this point in his career and he knows it.

 

Who cares....Hopkins is 45 next month. Let the man do what he wants to do he deserves it.

 

Nobody wants to see this ****...Hopkins wanted the Jones fight really bad....He does the next best thing fight the guy who stopped roy jones, in possibly jones last fight....danny green....

 

The man has done it all (Undisputed Middleweight Champ, 20+ defenses, Linear Lt. Heavyweight Champ), been there done that, and he is turning 45 soon, been in prison, been stabbed , and he is a punk ass *****?

Think about it for a sec, if he is a punk ass *****, what are you? think bout it

 

If it's true that HBO doesn't want Hopkins/Adamek, they are hurting the sport.
