You are saying pac is a nobody who only won rubbish fight. Yet you gonna call floyd the greatest fighter by beating the nobody low class pac? atsch Make up your mind, jeez
Ofcourse Mayweather can let his hands go just as fast. The only thing we differ is that you believe Mayweather will open up more in this fight, while I DON'T think he will. His record alone at this higher weights speaks for itself. He rarely opens up on his opponents even if the fight is so one-sided in his favor. And against Manny, who's probably the best offensive fighter in the past decade, I doubt he'd have the inclination to let his hands go that much.
that says a lot...im a big fan of floyd and alot on esb can vouch on that...but i dont see an argument where u can put him in the top 10 atg...i got him in my top 50...i don't see any arguments that can be made citing him above fighters like willie pep, ali, leonard, duran, hearns srr, chavez sr, (though i think he beats him h2h)... All that could easily change with a victory over manny and a victory over the proven best in his weight class -ssm...throw in a nice victory over a young undefeated up and coming fighter somewhere down the road and than you have top 10 atg and a good argument to put him up there with those fab 5 in srr leonard pep armstrong ali etc...till than he is a top 30 at best and more like top 50... Also can't deny that his skills are like nobody elses i have ever seen without a sugar at the beggining...he has the best defense i've seen in boxing since pernell and i am wondering if floyd is a tad beyond pernell...i also like to point out that he dominated a 130lb division and fought most of the top contenders out there....he had his scary moments but he has pulled out the w in the best way he knew how...he is 40-0 and many fans such as the common "*******" will talk **** about the "o"...but it isn't easy to do and face that many world champions and thats the bottom line...chavez jr has not faced the level of competition floyd has so "*******s" (as we call em on esb) needa get off that ****...still....i see floyd at top 50 and pac the same... I doubt this fight is 1 sided from either side...
Floyd Mayweather doesnt need to throw punches in bunches because he is accurate with everything he throws. If he misses alot he'd need to throw more punches. Throwing 1-2 shots at a time allows him to be more accurate and at the same time not open himself up for attack. Throughout Floyds career, when he has a fighter hurt he usually finishes the job. As with Hatton.
Totally agree with you sting. Mayweather hasn't faced anything like Pacquaio. He's skated off of easy fights for years and years, never pushing or challenging himself. These days, your lucky to see him throw more then 1-2 punches at a time, in slow intervals. I don't think he has the power or workrate to back Manny off, and I think if he opens up more he's gonna get hurt. I see Manny winning by mid-late TKO, or a UD depending on how long Floyd stays on his bike.
Morales fought Manny off and backed him up. Floyd doesn't / isn't going to do that. Watch Mayweather-Judah or Corley to get a better idea of what he's going to do.
No but I wouldn't take that bet for Floyd either. It's a 50/50 fight IMO. I'm leaning towards Pacquiao though.
Not really. He deals with southpaws the same way. He just waited Judah out a bit more in the earlier rounds. He tends to keep a high guard, stand directly in front and try to potshot with lead rights to the head and body, and follow with a left hook. He's also unusually aggressive against southpaws and fights off the front foot. Judah and Corley were able to get to him pretty consistently. He was hurt badly against Corley, and got stunned at least 2 or 3 other times. Judah got to him pretty easily in the first half of the fight. If Judah had a better workrate and didn't fade as he normally does, I believe he could have won the fight.
Yes it allows him to be more accurate, but at the same time it doesn't allow him to inflict as much damage as an accurate 3-4 punch combo like JMM does. Especially against someone as tough as Pacquiao. Pacquiao has been known to attack even more when he gets hit. He doesn't get easily discouraged like most fighters, and is even happy to attack right back. Floyd might hit him with 1-2 accurate counters, but I feel it won't be enough to deter Pac throughout the whole fight. As for finishing a hurt opponent, he did alot of that when he was in the lighter weights. In the higher weights, not so much. Only fighters he finished there was Hatton and Mitchell.
