I agree with most of that. Carl Froch is an accident waiting to happen. He's done well to get as far as he has.
unusually intelligent analysis and about spot on. hes got heart and power, and a granite chin as has already been proven. the problem is now hes operating at the ELITE level. unlike some ******ed posters i dont think its posible to get exposed once you get to this level, if you have made it there, there is no shame losing against this level of opposition. which brings us to where he is now. hes got two fights against top level opposition and i expect him to lose both. i also expect them to be two of the best fights of 2010. i have followed his career since the belfast world amateur tourny, in 1999??, and think hes achieved a huge amount. i he proceeds in this tournament he will go down with me as a solid old style fighter with a good record and career.
I like Froch's attitude, while i think he is limited and would be exposed by a slick boxer....he still has a ill fight anyone attitude that i admire.
A limited boxer in terms of actual ability but he has qualities in him which makes for good fights. What I find hard to believe on this forum is how certain people consider him dead after one (and I agree wholeheartedly as I was there, and almost comatose by the end) very disappointing performance, against someone who lets be honest wasn't there to fight. I'm sure you have all watched enough boxing in your lifetimes to know when someone is turning a fight into a stinker and Andre Dirrell was doing just that, the result was somewhat controversial but Im a firm believer that certain judges like certain things and Andre Dirrell was on the back foot all night losing his balance constantly, it was terrible to watch. Carl Froch makes a far better spectacle when a fighter is willing to stand and trade with him. There are people in the division who would do this, yes many fighters could probably out-box and outclass him technique wise but hes a brawler, hes not the first and he certainly wont be the last to be successful and do better than his ability might tell us. His last two fights before Dirrell against Jean Pascal (a now light heavyweight world champion who's own career is really starting to take off) was a belter and it was one of the best fights of 2008, and then a last gasp win over Jermain Taylor, a formerly undisputed middleweight champion with good wins on his record, doesnt tell me that Carl Froch's fights are horrible to watch. Carl Froch is by no means dead.
I hated Froch until the Dirrell fight. I dislike his arrogance and his lack of defence...but man, Dirrell's girlish tactics made Froch look ten times the man he is. Froch legitimately thinks he can beat anyone. Even at the end of the Taylor fight while Froch needed a KO, he didn't seem in a hurry. 20 seconds left, and he was calmly walking Taylor down as if there were 3 more rounds left. He just has boundless belief in himself. Seems to have a granite chin, but Taylor did drop him so maybe we'll see more of that as he fights better opponents. Hits extremely hard, but he doesn't put his shots together and he doesn't seem to do anything effectively except discourage his opponents by taking their best shots like it ain't no thing. I don't think Froch will beat Taylor, Abraham, or Kessler...but he has a definite chance with the punch he packs. I might be crazy for saying this, but I think Ward is tailor made for Froch's style. Basically, I respect the guy's confidence, power, chin, and heart...but he seems very beatable for a guy with his record. If he gets out of the tournament early, I want to see him fight Andrade.
Still choosing to be a delusional dumbass eh? Dont worry, im pretty sure Dirrell and Froch will meet again in the future, and Dirrell this time will finish the job he started in the 10th, and this time Froch wont have corrupt judges and a scared ref to save his ass.
Sorry, its boxing not fighting. And Froch didnt want to fight, he wanted to body slam and hold and rabbit punch. And he still nearly got KO'd:rofl
He didnt find a way against Dirrell he nearly got knocked the **** out. The way he found a way was corrupt and dumbass judging/refing.
Im saying he finds a way. I think Dirrell should have won too, but Froch stole a win. He found a way. The ref sucked and the judges saw more fit to punish Dirrell than to reward any thing Froch may have done in the fight. It ouwldn't surprise me all that much if he foound a way vs Kessler, but I cannot see him beating Abraham....I think that's a spectacular KO waiting to happen.
