Lacy and Pavlik - similar?

i know right...the best middleweight moves up and gets blasted by the best light heavyweight and all of a sudden he's overrated and probably shouldnt have been born despite destroying everyone in his own weight class.

oscar moves up and actually gets stopped by bhop...eh he had no business at that weight...

tito moves up against bhop and gets a one sided beating like he has never had...eh he had no business at that weight...

pav moves up against bhop and takes a one sided beating like he has never had...go drown yourself kelly.

but, at 27, he still has time to prove everyone wrong

 

I think in 2010, we will probably see , Pavlik Williams, Pavlik Sturm, Pavlik Green/Bute.:happy

 

would love to see all those fights. little uneasy about bute.

If I can make my DREAM MATCH UP D, that is the one I want to see, Pavlik is a killer at MW, NO DOUBTS, AA obviously has taken his power up, one fight if I had a wish to get made would be AA-KP! This thing could be a FOTY candidate for sure!

What weight would you think this would happen, IF it were to happen D?
I think Kellys' chances are better at MW, and AA's better at SMW. Maybe a catchweight of 164-166?:think

 

well i would think it depends on how arthur does in the tourney. if he wins (which seems like a good possibility after what i saw in the first round), then i think he has a legit claim to tell kelly to come get him (oh how the tables would have turned )

i think a catchweight like you said would be a good possibility as well. both men need to take care of business b/c if everything unfolds like we want this could be a huge fight. arthur has definetly looked good over the mw limit and i'm sure he'll only get more comfortable. he's gonna get a little bit of everything in this tourney from a dancer like dirrell to a plodder like froch. we need to see how kelly comes back...i'm anticipating him to be very hungry.

How can you compare Lacy and Pavlik at this moment in time? Their is no similarities.

 

The sad thing Cuz is that ODH and Tito were natural WW and Pavlik is considered a "big" MW!

 

And.....Hopkins was clearly the bigger and stronger man against Pavlik..

You think Tito could beat Pavlik @ 160?

In Pavlik's case, we might want to wait until a fighter at 160 manages to go the distance with him before we close the book.

 

Williams problem is that he is too easy to hit. What makes him great is his volume and presure for a relatively tall guy at the lower weights. Against Pavlik he isn't the taller man. If he was slick that would be one thing but he aint.

 

:nono now now, when oscar had fought hopkins, he had been fighting at 154 or higher for a few years (contrary to pavlik when he fought a lhw against hopkins)...oscar had also fought ssm and vargas prior to hopkins at 154 (hopkins fight was at 156 i believe). also, it was only 8 months later, that oscar destroyed mayorga. in fact, oscar never went back down to ww until pac.

as far as tito, he had several fights under his belt at or above 154 by the time he met hopkins. in fact, he destroyed joppy who actually went the distance with taylor. after the oscar fight, tito never went back down to ww.

now pav moves two classes to fight hopkins and gets stomped. if you want to make the argument that what makes him a great mw isnt going to transfer to higher weight classes, fine...i can't really argue with that yet. but to say what a hof atg lhw did to him at lhw means he's overrated at mw is a stretch.

Thats why I said "natural" WW! Tito and Oscar did most of their work at WW. In the Tito and Oscar fight Bhop was clearly the bigger man but in the Pavlik fight he did not look to have a size advantage! Thats why I said Pavlik is considered a "big" MW!

You also have to understand that Bhop isn't a big puncher cause if he was Pavlik would not have lated to the third round!!

 

i keep hearing that bhop isnt a big puncher. i agree he isnt a ko artist, but he did stop oscar and tito did he not??

It took Bhop the whole fight to finally KO Tito but he beat Tito up through out the fight! That punch he hit Oscar with could have KO'd any fighter cuz that shot knocked the wind out of him and I,ve had the wind knocked out of me and it leaves you hepless for about a minute!! LOL!

He was the bigger man but it wasn't as appearent as the Tito and Oscar fight!
