"We haven’t heard who will be the new target for Hasegawa who will certainly relinquish his belt because of his severe weight problem. He won’t jump up by three classes as Manny Pacquiao who had moved up from the 112-pound class to the 122-pound category, skipping the super-fly and bantam divisions. As the WBC super-bantam ruler is his compatriot Toshiaki Nishioka, Hasegawa may start fighting directly in the feather category."

He's been saying for a while that he will move up but 2 divisionsis to much at once.

122 should be his next step.

This is a great move. The featherweight division is stacked: Gamboa, Rojas, John, Mtagwa, Juanma.

Interesting. However SBW would suit him better. Can you imagine a Nishioka fight? If they are cool and don't want to stage that superfight, Hozumi could still face Poonsawat for the WBA belt which would be the real banger. Maybe 126 at one point, but jumping up 2 divisions might not be the smartest move IMO.

I do not think this is a good idea at all. Its not like he has a shortage of quality opponents in his division or anything.
