"Man, I`m going to tell you, I don`t care who you are, that bouncing back and forth in weight is going is going to catch up to Paul Williams. I think it was a hell of a fight (Williams-Martinez), but I just don`t see how long he could keep doing that. I don`t know if he could still make 147".

You can find this interview in the site that hypes fights.

I totally agree with Nazim. I can imagine Paul Williams in 2010 battling and possibly beating Kelly Pavlik in an exciting back and forth 12 round battle at 160, only to accept a fight with one of the top guys at 147 and being KTFO by shane or even the midget Pacquiao because he was totally drained.

Pffffffffft... Williams better just tighten up his approach.

Getting punched in the head is going to catch up to him sooner than jumping any weight class.

He eats extra to barely make MW. I think he can still do 147.

154 for Williams. I know he's struggling to find fights, but that's just life.

Pavlik is the white version of felix trinidad, exposed by B-Hop, come straight forward, eats to many punches and can't adjust Paul "the punching machine" Williams will take him to deep waters and drown his ass, he will lose to any elite fighter he faces. :tired

I think the asterisk should be that he's struggling to find superfights, because his resume shows he can attract contenders and beltholders to fight him. They just want the biggest payday now (understandably), but that doesn't mean that the other fighters don't want to fight him and don't have a legitimate claim themselves to fight Williams. Paul should try and clear out 154 if he doesn't take the Pavlik fight because it's not clear he's even the best guy at 154 yet.

Yeah I don't know if he should attempt to fight at 147 in the future. 154 is where he can really make things happen.

He's really only been jumping between 154 and 160 recently...if he looks bad in a 147 fight, then all he has to do is move up to a more comfortable class. Pretty simple. But it's the fact that his defense has more holes than swiss cheese and that his punches aren't well placed that should be a cause for concern.

I have stated this before. But PW heads dont want to believe it. Now that Nazeem has said it they just might believe it. He should stay away from 147 though.

why the hell would he go back to 147? Nobody wants to fight him in that division and he doesn't belong in that division in the first place.

Paul should rematch Martinez, and try to clear out the light middleweight division. For the time being he needs to stay away from 160. You can't make more than 8 rounds with Kelly Pavlik if your primary defensive tool is your face. Williams is a natural welterweight, and being the considerably smaller man, probably wouldn't see the end of 5 with KP.
