Why would PW have a problem with KP(one dimensional robot)! Pavlik has nowhere the speed or boxing ability of Martinez or Quintana, being that they are slick boxers they are hard to hit but Pavlik is very easy to hit! Bernard Hopkins who is only known for his age and ring generalship nearly beat Pavlik to a bloody pulp! Bhop damn near took Pavlik out in the 2nd round!
Whe difference between Paul Williams and Bernard Hopkins is the exact equivalent of the difference between dog **** and chocolate cake.
Not to mention, he needs to establish himself in a division too. He can jump between a couple and call out champs, but no one will be obligated to fight him.
C'mon Boo you really think Pavlik would kill PW!? Martinez caught PW with a shot most guys would not have got up from! Pavlik's style is so straight forward that PW would see every punch coming! More importantly Martinez and Quintana are southpaws who are excellent counter punchers!! Pavlik is not known for counter punching!!
Haye's the former CW World champ who moved up. Williams was a WW titlist who's jumped around divisions. Not the same.
I have to give myself credit then cause I don't remember hearing Manny Steward saying that! (cross my heart) Pretty obvious though! Great minds think alike!
The difference between Pavlik and Martinez is Martinez is close to a complete fighter with offense and defense while Pavlik is way too 1 dimensional. Martinez is slick with speed. Pavlik got power but is too slow to throw a punch.
Steward said all that stuff during the same time period when he said: "He got that round, but it's okay. You got him fighting at a pace he's not used to." And; "He's ready to go. You're conditioning is wearing him down." September 29th, 2007
