His career prior to that should count, but I think he'd have to prove himself at that weight first. It would also be sour to more deserving people at WW, who fought the best competitors to have a shot at the title, only to get put aside because some loudmouth claims greatness. The loudmouth isn't Pac of course, Pac speaks with his hands like a boxer is supposed to. Haye speaks with his mouth, then fights with his feet.

Anyway, most of this discussion isn't about whether Haye deserved the shot or not, it's what he did after he got it.

The issue is him running and only throwing 140 punches, that's disgraceful by any standard. He wasn't aggressive before "breaking" his hand either, he ran from round one through eleven. Good thing he unbroke his hand in round twelve. He can go twelve rounds running, whether he can do that fighting is a question that remains unanswered. Hit without getting hit, that's the issue here as Haye barely hit. One hundred and forty punches! An absolute disgrace for someone who claims to be the saviour at HW.

The only question that was answered is that Haye needs to run against anyone with a pulse, because he did it against someone who most people on this site think is a **** boxer.

And indeed he won the fight, 120-119. Congratulations mr. Loudmouth :good

As a fan of both Klitschko's and Haye, I have to say the Klitschko fight was better. Vitali won every round in a shutout, and cannot be criticized for it. Haye did enough to win his fight, but didn't win in a great fashion. To be fair, everyone is aware of the weight difference- and a win is a win, but Vitali really beat his opponent and left no doubt about it.

Haye wins the event though for taking the title off of Valuev in Germany, and doing the division a favour :good

You probably assumed I'm American, which I'm not. What Kevin Johnson did was a disgrace, even more so than what Haye did. It does not excuse Haye for throwing only 140 punches in a 12 round title fight. Embarrassing really.

Basically your argument is thank god for a shitty fighter, because another fighter is also shitty.

Again...what exactly is this so-called double standard you speak of? All you've basically said is both guys have their fans. You mention NOTHING of a double standard.

You say people speak of Haye as if he's the next greatest HW? Same thing was done w/ Vitali. And Wlad. And many others.

When Wlad bored MSG to sleep in his fight with Ibragimov the Klit fans were screaming a masterful performance, did what he needed to win, winning is all that matters. When Haye does what he has to win against Valuev it is boing and a disgrace. These are double standards.
What makes it worse, and why I defend Haye, is that Klit outweighed, outsized and outreached his opponent and still bored everyone to tears. Haye was outweighed massively, outsized massively and outreached massively, and was still MUCH more agressive than Wlad every was in his fight against Ibragimov. When HAye outsizes and outwieghs his opponents he blasts them out in a few rounds, Wlad does not!
To me both of these fights were terrible, but if you insult Haye for being in a boring fight, and defend Wlad in the Ibragimov fight you need your head exmining, and need to be banned from ESB for your blatant bias.

Where have I ever defended Wlad in the Ibragimov fight? I thought wlad could have and should have done better in that fight. I can be honest. that is the whole point of this thread......seems people cant understand that though.:deal
