You have to land punches to get points.

So, you had Johnson winning every round against Vitali?!

Going by your analogy and criteria for winning titles, Vitali has never been a world champion either then? He picked up vacant belts in the past and also got a free shot at, and beat, Peter who, if you trace the title back far enough, also inherited a vacant title:think. That's a very odd way of looking at things, IMO.

    BTW, Thanks for voting, though:good.

    Ring generalship :rofl

Twelve punches a round, most of which were jabs to the stomach

What if two fighers get into the ring and refused to fight each other, they just run around the ring and do nothing?

He did what he was supposed to, use the ring against a bigger opponent, and land when he could......much more effective then anyting valuev did...by chasing haye around, and throwing ONLY jabs...

haye used effective ring generalship to get the win, these are the facts...

At first I found Haye an annoying snot and didn't like him at all but I never didn't respect his accomplishments. Now, since admittedly I feel grateful to him for ridding us of Valuev (Not that I really dislike Valuev, just...you know) I take his crap in good humor and it is what it is. He's done a hell of a lot- for the number of fights he's been in especially.

Hang on here, mate- we're not talking about Wlad's entire career here, we're talking about what Haye would have to do to gain your respect.

Well to each their own...I happen to be american not british....I just thought haye did the right thing against the russian giant, nobody is really going to look good against valuev even if his skill set is not all that great...

He already has my respect and always did, huge fan of Haye here since his amateur days. The man brings excitement to a division that lacks it, what is there to disrespect?, seriously.

Just a fight with one of the Klitschkos, not necessarily beating them.

You seemed to have missed the point ******.

I was pointing out that Chagaev, Ruiz & Donald aren't "Gods among men" but rather good boxers who managed to out box (not brawl with brute force) Valuev. The main reason is that they aren't gutless pussies.

That doesn't mean that you have to stand and trade with Valuev which you claim is the only way to beat him. Gaymakers fanboys like using the size of Valuev as an excuse while the fact remains that guys smaller than Gaye have outboxed Valuev. Gaye was terrified and that is why he put forth such a pitiful performance, he fought like a coward, deal with it.

Not even to the Brits. Me and a couple of mates watched the fight and were shocked tha Haye got the decision. I've since watched it back and Haye did land the more effective shots, but the fight was an utter disgrace.
