    He was weight drained.
    Or he had cramps.
Or his training camp had been too noisy.

"A few times, it got out of control," he said. "You're sparring and you say to yourself, 'Hey, maybe I can go with this guy.' Then you trade a few shots, and you realize you're an actor again." - Stallone.

That's Roberto Duran you bloody idiot lol.

Duran was paid to spar for that role. It was not a real fight.

Or even close to a real fight. Thats like asking Mister T why he didnt killed Sly, or why Hogan didnt just break Sly in half. It was a role. Not real.

LoL my point is that duran had to be seeing all these ways that he could just tear Stallones head off but he didnt do it...but i like stallone...and he is honest about the boxing....he liked to spar, he got in their, and banged it out..and im sure that by the third rocky movie he could have went into your average boxing gym and given some open class smaller fighters a little work....but of course he couldnt hang with real boxers, but he is always honest about it. Not like Russel Crow or even Will Smith who talked like they could actually box when speaking of training for their respective boxing movies..and honestly..i think a prime stallone would beat up both of those sissy boys. Another great Stallone sparring story is when they filmed a seen for Rocky 4, the fight seen with Dolph...and Stallone wanted some parts that where really them punching for real...so they filmed it..so Dolph, who outweighted Stallone by about 80 pounds and was a european full contact karate champ hit him with a right directly in the chest...causing stallones heart to stop for a moment...and he was rushed to a hospital with a irregular heart beat..also the story of Stallone sparring with Ernie shaves is another great one..but i digress.

well of course...and stallone you can see their isnt even much bigger then him..yet when i was a kid he was so darn believable as heavyweight champ..anyhow..i have heard that some figthers have a hard time turning off the killer instinct..other guys can go through the motions with anyone and turn it off...my guess would be that duran would be more of the first kind of guy...and that if you where opposite him with gloves on and looking like a fighter..he would have a hard time not just hitting you like a fighter..but maybe not..maybe he could remember Stallone was a actor doing a role. Another funny hollywood boxing story is that when DeNiro was making raging bull he and joe pescie sparred...bob broke his ribs...thats to be expected..then DeNiro and the real Jake Lamotta sparred..and Lamotta kicked the **** out of him....after Bob had had months of boxing training and Lamotta hadnt been doing a damn thing but being old and fat...60 years old at that...lol
