I believe Sweeney was KOd in eight in Mexico last night, very disappointing end to the year if that's accurate. Dunno any more than that, no results up anywhere - dunno who he was even fighting.

love to see lindsay packing out the kings hall...and ohara to get a rematch with burns or failing that eddie hyland...thats unfinished business there...rogan and dunne to come back successfully...and mccloskey to forge ahead the way hes going

My Christmas list? That all promoters stop calling each other arseholes behind each other's backs and work together. One united force and Irish boxing is the huge winner, with fights we all want to see.

Failing that, I see a time next year when fellas like Paddy Cronan, Cormac Campbell and five or six of us on ESB decide to say, "**** it, let's take a gamble" and put on a show by ourselves - we've come so far since Ardy's original vision, nothing would surprise me given the passion for Irish boxing on this thread.

love the ambition and the sentiment. would have been achievable if the irish boxing scene had been booming about a decade ago. i doubt we'd have the collateral to put something proper together given the recession. I have some pretty good contacts as far as event management goes, though, if it ever comes to fruition.
