Huh?...Its a single photo, it's a portrait that a fan made of him, whats the big deal that it has 4 different images of him?

So just because I'm a fan of Norris and have his image as an avatar doesn't make me objective about him just because me and you have different opinions in regards to him?

He beat prime Leonard? Mugabi was passed his prime. Mugabi fought one great fight against Hagler and he seemed to lose his fighting spirit after being thumbed by Duane Thomas. Taylor was a good win against a guy who hadn't fought at 154 ever. Terry is good, but his losses by knockout make it doubtful he is top 100, but I am sure he could make it in..

Probably post100. Good fighter, but not 'great' IMO.

I'm a big fan of Norris his offensive skills at times are unbelievable. He has some decent wins on his record but post the rematch with Simon Brown nobody of note. He unified the wbc and Ibf jr Mid title against Paul Vaden and there was talk of fights against Chavez, Whitaker, Trinidad and De La Hoya. None of these fights came off and it's the lack of top class names on his resume rather than his ability that puts him way outside a top 100 spot IMO.

His chin is also a factor. His loss to Jackson was a brutal KD but I felt he did well to get up. Remember Julian is one of the hardest punchers of All time. The Brown fight is different although Brown is a good puncher. To get dropped and badly shaken by a stiff jab was pathetic, training or no training. After that fight he seemed to get stunned everytime someone caught him clean, on chin or top of head.

I think he had the potential to be great but just didn't fullfill it.

Your Canizales career set must seem very appealing at the moment if you've been on a Norris marathon:lol:you won't be happy to hear I've been revelling in the pleasures of Tunney Dempsey 1&2.

a lot of people still have that grudge against him becuz what he done to leonard. Any negative talk of Norris is simply due to the fact that people dont like the young upstart showing up their hero. Like I said, SPEED will beat Ray Leonard and the Leonard legions are pissed becuz TNT Norris was the one to do it.

A perfect shutout. Speedster B whipped speedster A. It was like Camacho-Davis all over again, but worse becuz there was a beating involved.

Addie likes to harp on his wins with sarcasm but he's never been able to respond any other way.....

    Becuz he don't know how

He's also never been able to show me how going 11 yrs w/o a loss and gaining 5 championships add up to a decline. It don't

I think Terry was great. Nothing wrong with his chin and using the Jackson fight against him is rather stupid when you think of it becuz Jackson was a renowned knockout artist. Going in the ring with Julian was suicide for anyone

How come no one says Herol Graham had a chin problem or Buster Drayton who withstood the best of matthew Hilton for 15?

Fact: my man Norris set the record for defenses in his own division. More than Leonard. More than Benitez. More than Hearns. More than Kalule. More than any of those losers.

Also the fastest 154 pounder ever seen. No one could compete with him becuz he had too much speed. Only when he came down off his toes could the opposition catch up with him (Brown)

but once he went back to being the real Terry Norris, look what happen to Brown  Terry made a fool of him. Brown couldnt even touch him.

Top 100 would be too easy for someone like Norris. 50 would be no problem becuz of all the greats he manhandled and I would put a conservative estimate at somewhere between 35-40

Notice how Natonic always brings up the first Brown fight but how ne never brings up the rematch? The man has what you would call a selective memory

Whoever beats who gets to rise above the loser in the ranks. So if Leonard beats Hagler he gets to be ranked over him as most ESBers do. Using the same rule, since Norris beat Leonard more convingly than Leonard beat Hagler, Norris rises well above in rank.

I never ranked Leonard very high to begin with so Norris only makes it into 30-40 spot

Leonard unbeaten in 11 years, 3-1 favorite and Norris won that fight easy. It was the SPEED that beat him!

Fleaman, I am going according to the rules ESBers use such as Addie and others: Whoever beats another fighter on a roll gets bragging rights as superior p4p. If Hagler is on a streak and Leonard beats him, even closey, they all take it as a sign that Ray was better all along. So all I'm doing is using their rules since Norris found himself in the same position, the same odds, when he challenged Hagler

Only he done it better. You know how I hate split decisions

What upsets them also is that Terry had not established himself as yet with the public whereas Leonard had just before his comeback. The fact that Norris was not established as he pulled off the upset throws off fans, especially the casual boxing fan like Addie but that shouldnt matter.

Lets all face facts: a fighter with great speed is going to be alot more challenging than deposing an established middleweight champion with no speed.

1990 TNT Norris beats 1987 Hagler
