Valero vs Katsidis in unification fight, who wins?

    Made this on the british forum, it got a good response so im posting it here.

    For me I fancy Valero by T/KO. I see Katsidis going down like 4 times and ref jumping in to stop the slaughter. However it could be a pick em fight as Katsidis has shown tremendous improvements lately since the Graham Earl fight.

    I can see this being a real FOTY if it ever came up, thoughts...

    Agree'd !!!

    Valero by early TKO , i think Valero is a better all round fighter than Katsidis while being of the same mould if that makes sence !!!!

    Katsidis has shown in the Casa fight that he can't see the straight left...he was down in the first round of their fight twice...he will get knocked out in one round if he fights Valero!!

    It was said that Katsidis doesn't liek a southpaw, thing is he hasn't fought anyone with so much power let alonea southpaw powerhouse. IMO Valero is Katsidis kryptonite.
    Id be hoping that Katsidis would have a tune up bout witha legitamate southpaw challenger prior to this fight, I'd hope that he would be in peak condition so it'd be a 50/50. Would be an amazing spectacle for all to see.:good

    I see Valero scoring a win on multiple knockdowns, somehwere in the first half of the fight. Katsidis will have his moments though and will probabably hurt Valero more than ever before.

    good analysis but i still think everyone is giving edwin too much credit and katsidis not enough. katsidis has fought MUCH better competition. granted, he's lost when he's stepped up. i believe he's far more proven and actually a better fighter. however, styles make fights and the previous posters made good points about the casa fight and how he struggled with an old, post peak casa thoroughly. valero has more power and if hatisidis gets hit with half as many shots, he is out. however, valero doesn't have anywhere NEAR the skill of casa and i don't see katsidis taking nearly as much shots against edwin. i say it's a 50/50 at this time

    hmm says . . .

    leaning slightly towards Katsidis... toughest opponent Valero will face.. Valero can get careless at times which we have seen recently..

    Katsidis just better do the same as well and hope his corner gives him good advice for a straight high pressure fighter.... Katsidis has managed himself well with these type of fighters/granted it's a hit or miss... I can't say the same for Valero's opponents so I'm still not convinced.

    its a 50/50 fight for me. valero is pretty much un-tested at top level and leaves his chin out open... he clearly has power but defence is suspect. katsidis is a brawler with a lot of heart...would be a great fight

    does this fight have any chance of happening?

    **JMM would have to vacate his Lightweight WBO belt ..which would only make Katsidis-Valero easier to make.
