Like I said before even the biggest Punchers in history run into guys who are not going to fall. Tyson couldnt ko Tillis,Thomas Tate ate up Julian Jacksons bombs,Sanchez walked through Little lopezs best shots,Hearns fought quite a few guys he couldnt ko. Are you gonna say those guys couldnt punch either?

True, but Velazquez came to fight last saturday night. He really brought it. I also think that Pacquaio was at a more advanced stage of his development as a fighter when he fought Velazquez than where Valero is now.

When Pac fought Velazquez, he already had the first MAB win, the JMM draw, and the EM loss already under his belt. 3 elite opponents. 3 tough and demanding fights. He was waaaaay more seasoned and experienced than Valero.

Valero needs to go through hard, demanding fights where he will be made aware of his vulnerabilities (Katsidis, Soto, Casamayor, JMM-type fights) and may even have to endure a loss or two before he really steps up his level of skill, out of necessity.

Valero has the natural intangibles of ferocity and punch power. Those are gifts. You can't teach those. You either have em or don't. That's why some of us have been following him closely for some time now. You will never be able to teach a Winky Wright, a Malinaggi, a Kevin Johnson or a Yuri Foreman to become a KO machine. On the other hand, defense, a good guard and footwork can be taught.

Well i think Limon did pretty good for himself he had some good wins in and era where their were some very good fighters in his division. Also Im not gonna say Valero is better than Limon, since he has not fought the competition that Limon has,but he is a lot faster and he looks like he could eventually be better. I do agree that there are questions to be answered. Limon was super tough, If Valero is as tough as Limon was he will go on to do some big things cause i think Valero does have some skills.
Funeka would be tough for anyone, but his chin can be cracked and I dont think a fight between the 2 is smart for either of them unless its for an undisputed title.
As for Katsidis i would bet the Ranch on Valero. Valero wins that fight by brutal knockout.

You're so eager to defend Valero that you contradict yourself.

So was he on survival mode from the start or did he came to fight?

Yeah. Some people should watch the fight before making such a negative thread. He wanted to hold all night.

    Agreed on all points!

I agree. Which is why I don't think you should compare the two fights. When Velazquez was brought in against Pac, he was there to make Pac look good in promoting Pac-Morales 2. Velazquez is now four years removed from being a punching bag for Pac. He's even less than that now.

The thing about Valero is, he still makes the same basic errors that he did three years ago. When he steps up in class, he better hope his punching power is able to see him through, because , I see guys like Katsidis exploiting his flaws very easily.

i'd like to reiterate mosquera a SFW fighter with only a 50% KO ratio stood infront of valero for 10 rounds before he gassed and took everything valero threw and hurt valero numerously throughout the fight his punching power is exaggerated
demarco is better then average hes already beaten better quality fighters at 135 then valero if valero beats him i'll give him credit and i'll recognise him for the top 10 fighter at 135 he is

You maybe don't know, but Valero is more of a counter-puncher. He just has to attack because once his opponents get hit they are very reluctant to attack him.

    Katsidis? What a joke!

Part of the reason for that is Valero coming in straight up and being chest to chest after throwing 1 punch.

You have been reduced to blatant lies. Amusing!

    You won't give credit then.

Yep, Valero smothers himself constantly. Another of his many, glaring flaws.

The psuedo-experts on here are amusing. No Valero doesn't do everything by the book but thats not what he's about. He's doing pretty well right now and its not always been easy to get opponents for him due to restrictions on the places he can fight.

    Indeed,constantly.

Head first too.Wondering what that would do to a bleeder like Katsidis....it would get him stopped on cuts.
