Tommy Hearns for me. Ticks all the boxes.

I'm sure this has probably been done before but I'm interested to see which fighters all you knowledgable boxing historians will pick.

Well documented already that I'm of the opinion that Marco Antonio Barrera is among some of the very finest human beings to have graced the planet. Just loved the way he'd go in there with a face looking like an aztec statue and methodically break down his opponent.

Muhammad Ali. It's impossible to think of my youth without him springing to mind, somewhere or other.

Arguello; as Pugilists go, he ticks all the boxes, vulnerable to a degree that he couldn't just rest on his natural advanatges (pure boxers gave him hassle) but his punching form is superb, and has a top 5 dig in either fist.

A true Gentleman to his opponents as well; add to that a damn fine resume and his participation in possibly the greatest fight of all time and you can see why I adore the man so much.

    RIP Alexis.

Very close behind him, Joe Louis.

Duran, the fact that he is widely regarded as being one of the best offensive boxers of all time whilst also having an ATG defence which is often overlooked does it for me.

Other fighters I considered were Hearns, Sal Sanchez and Morales and as far as active fighters go I could watch Pacman and Sugar Shane all day.

Muhammad Ali, with either Pernell Whitaker or Sugar Ray Leonard coming in second.

this may sound bizarre but i was at all his fights from 1980-1982 and there was no more exciting guy: Frank "The Animal" Fletcher. Along w/ seeing Franklin, Duran, Briscoe and Hamsho live, "The Animal" was worth every penny for every ticket spent. :rasta

If this thread was called "Who do you think is the greatest boxer of all time?" then Sugar Ray Leonard wouldn't have been in the photograph above. However, as the question is regarding my "favourite" of all time, he is.

He is part of my youth and played an unbelieveable role in the development of my love of boxing.
