These are punch stats that Floyds opponents had either right before they fought him, or right after they fought him. You see the difference in work rate? His defense discourages fighters from throwing their normal amount of punches and their accuracy is tremendously low. If you look at Mannys stats and work rate against toe to toe fighters, it is high. Against JMM, a counter puncher, levels below Floyd, you see Mannys punch output dropped by over 100 punches. Men lie, women lie, but numbers dont. I do not see how anyone thinks that Manny will be able to impose himself on Floyd when NO one has been able to successfully. If breaking him down is the plan, I hope they have a plan b. Marquez vs. Diaz 288/732 (9 rounds) Marquez vs. Mayweather 70/583 Hatton Vs Urango 258/755 Hatton Vs Mayweather 63/372 Hatton Vs Collazo 259/741 De La Hoya Vs Forbes 253/810(after Mayweather fight) De La Hoya Vs Mayweather 122/587 Pacquiao vs. Cotto 336/780 Pacquiao vs. Diaz 230/788 Pacquiao vs. JMM 157/619 Pacquiao vs. JMM 157/619
Ever since the Hatton fight, Manny is a one punch ko machine??? Oh, and Floyd is that dude who has been ko'd by one punch, how many times? Next
He seems to be a good puncher, ask Hatton, DLH and Cotto, they are maybe not defensive wizards but they are durable p4p fighters. PAC is fast and explosive somethings which Marquez is not, that may be a key to reach Mayweathers chin with a good punch.
Floyd may not have been 100% in the following fight but nevertheless it's been done before to have higher percentages and if someone can connect more than the ones you mentioned it's Pacman. Even if Floyd's offense suffered because he wasn't 100%, his defence should have been better in that fight anyways.... HERE ARE THE STATS FOR CASTILLO-MAYWEATHER I : The Punch Stats: Castillo Mayweather 203 Landed 157 506 Thrown 448 40% Percentage 35% Power Punching Stats: Castillo Mayweather 173 Landed 66 377 Thrown 151 46% Percentage 44% This content is protected
There's this old thread that would be of interest to you guys - something like "Compubox makes Mayweather look like superman", or something like that. Though for whatever frikkin reason I'm having difficulty pulling it up on the search.
Its been done in the past where a high-volume fighter fought a fighter who makes opponents drastically drop in output. Noone expects Pac to throw as many punches against Floyd as he did against Cotto. That doesn't mean he will not throw consistantly over 12 rounds. Look at Hopkins and Calzaghe. Hopkins always makes his opponents throw alot less punches than they are used to. Even more than Floyd. Calzaghe always throws alot of punches. Even more than Pacquiao. Hopkins made Calzaghe throw less punches than he is used to but Calzaghe still won that fight on his workrate.
I'll ask a question to you guys (who may have seen a lot more boxing fights than me): Give me an example where The B plan made a guy win?
137/604...23% the next fight when Floyd was 100%...but I'm not talking about 7-8 year old fights. In addition, Castillo is naturally a pressure fighter...next
