Was hurt by Cooper no doubt but not 'nearly stopped'.

By your own way of reasoning (if he wasn't such a fat ass) I can say Holy would be 3-0 if he wasn't so brave and didn't have hepatitis and 2-0 against Moorer if he didn't have a bad heart.

Holy ALWAYS had a **** excuse. But so have you so there you go:good

 Coming from one of Calzaghe's biggest huggers:roll:

The gulf in class between Calzaghe and Holyfield is so broad you could fit susan boyles forehead in it.

Seriously, have a word with yourself. Since when has greatness solely been about consistency, couple that with the fact that Holyfield threw more correct punches in the Bowe fights then Calzaghe did in his entire career.

Your ridiculous at times. I thought you were a fair poster.

Why is this about Calzaghe? god your like a broken record. Ofc Holyfield ranks above Calzaghe...lol. I have only ever argued Calzaghe ranks above the likes of Benn.

However, I happen to think Holyfield was overrated as a heavyweight. (not counting his cruiserweight exploits).

Many people have him top 10 and top 5 of all time...i dont agree.

People who defend him always talk about his 'heart and chin'...but his record vs the best says he was 3rd best in the 90s.

    Not at all.

Everyone's got losses. They come at differnent times for different reasons. Lewis has two avanged losses agaisnt a lot of good wins.

    They do count against him.
If it wasn't for the losses he'd be above Larry Holmes on most ATG lists.

A lot of people have him above Holmes anyway.

LL's losses wont affect his legacy. The manner of his losses though and the fact that his career wins were against two opponents who were well past there prime just allows him to barely squeeze into the lower half of the 10 greatest of all time. If LL had endeared himself to his fans more he would have been recieved better. Facts remain he did not.

I'll give you the manner of the McCall loss, but not Rahman.
The only impact Rahman will have on his legacy is people will ask 'Why didn't he acclimatise/train properly the first time around? Damn he could be a lazy *******.......'
Cause lets be honest that was the worst he ever looked shape, reflex, stamina, power wise etc. The rematch more than proved that in shape Rahman doesn't get near him.

I know you already know this Scurl, we just have different opinions on the manner of the loss.

Worst? Are you kidding me? LL was handing Rahman his ass until LL as usual got far to cocky and rather than finish his food was smiling through his guard dropped his hands got hit with a hail mary and woke up after the 10 count. LL's arrogance was why he lost. He sure put that to bed in the rematch though.

Scurla, what does endearing himself to his fans have to do with anything? Isn't that what Ricky Hatton did, is he an ATG?

One punch knock out defeats suffered by ATGs are always remembered.

Imagine if Calzaghe had been ko'd by Byron Mitchell (Rahman calibre) ? Would people even care if he avenged it in style, it would ALWAYS be cast up.

Its just a shame Lewis missed out on Bowe, Holyfield, Tyson and even Moorer in the mid 90s...but tbh he has himself to blame because his loss to McCall in 94 is partly the cause.

I think Bowe throwing his belt in the trash was part of the cause.

The thing is, at HW, one punch is all it takes, probably more so than at any other weight. There's a reason why HW has no ceiling.
