Record, achievements and recent form are the first 3 for me . Talent doesn't mean that much until a boxer has done something with it.

Of course the term "P4P" has changed a lot from its original use when it just meant weight aside, who is the best fighter in the world. Now people are putting together top 20 lists using all sorts of different criteria.

As Gaz said it's about ranking fighters regardless of weight class. I take into account records, recent form and achievements.

    Recent form??
Talk to me about Bernard Hopkins' recent form and how that justifies his ranking in many p4p lists

Clearly there is inconsistency in the timeframe used

maybe not popularity but talent , dedication , speed , thecnique etc everything that you should look for in a top boxer the pound for pound champ should have

for example. how can u justify b-hope being a top 5 when apart from his last fight he hadnt fought since last october and before that in april lost to calzaghe. no disrespect coz i no hes a legend but personally feel fighters need to be more active

    agree?

By recent form I meant last 4/5 fights within say 2/3 years. So not really 'recent' form

P4P has been taken apart of late, its all about quality of opponent and most of all consistancy of victory. Pacquiao's going up in weight, Diaz, De La Hoya, Hatton then Cotto along with beating (?) Marquez and before that Barrera is quite outstanding.
Marquez is in a similar boat, Barrera, cutting close with Pacquiao, Barrera, then moving up stopping the unstoppable Casamayor, Diaz, not beating Mayweather doesn't make him a poor fighter, just that means not according to boxing technique, more so physique, not allowed JMM to win. Its not all about moving up through all the weights and winning, although if done so successfully thats a huge advantage!

Yeah, "recent" in P4P lists tends to be a lot less "recent" than in normal weight division rankings.

Thats for the people who make those lists to justify not the people who are being asked about their own criteria....
