I think Manny should do the test.

But for Mayweather of all people to call him out on sportsmansip is bull****! pure and simple from a bull**** man.

Anyone know how much Mayweather weighed in on fight night with JMM. nope! because he refused to let it be known

Floyd has agreed to huge $10 mil penalty, so Pac should agree to the drug test.

Seriously.. I don't see how there can be any more than one position on this issue.

Floyds request for proper blood tests 30 days prior to the fight is not only reasonable but should be mandated for all ranked fights.

The more of an issue manny makes of this the worse he looks. For someone to risk a $25 million pound fight on a blood sample looks really guilty to me. Urine tests are less reliable, and samples just taken prior and post fight are for obvious reasons going to miss anything taken too early to be picked up, especially when the picture can be muddled with other meds and diuretics to mask/rid the body of others.

On an arm like mannys you could take a blood sample blindfolded. I'm actually pretty confident I could take a blood sample from him in 5 seconds flat, and it would be painless. You wouldn't even need a damn tourniquet on those arms.

But to refuse a simple test, that is required in most other sports looks like he is worried. It would be a tragic shame if Cotto was beaten by conrete and performance enhancers. Do the right thing manny and take the test.

First off let me say this first...I honestly dont think Manny is doping.

With that being said...Why the big deal about not taking the test...We can bring up all of these other situations but that still not going to solve anything...Floyd has every right to ask for a test...Who are we to deny him that right???

There is always a flip side to things and I really didnt pay to much attention to that post because he's blaming Mayweather of pulling out....The thing is...if Manny is clean and he wants to prove Mayweather why not take the test and sue Mayweather (Jr or Sr) for slander...With Manny wanting to take the test does kinda wave a red flag about the situation...IMHO, I think this is just mind games coming from both camps....Remember, Manny is asking for 10 mil if Floyd is over 147 and vice versa...Floyd is asking for olympic style drug test...I for one think they both should agree to each other demands or just say **** it! I really dont care happens at the negotiation table...We as fans want to see the fight...Floyd and Manny needs to stop acting like some bitches and get it on already!:good

i'm asking the proper conduct of an olympic style testing and just mentioned in the article released by GBP to the press that pac is not excatly against blood test. it said that he is ok with it but not within 30 days. he is willing to take it after the fight and before the press tour. how is stating something in that article a ridiculous statement?

Those negotiations are normal in boxing. Like I asked other before. When was the last time someone did Olympic style testing in part of the negotiation?

I'm going to repeat a line of reasoning which I first stated in RossTheBoss' thread on the possibility of the Pacquiao-Mayweather fight being called of because Team Mayweather is attempting to force Manny Pacquiao to submit to unusual blood testing requirements. Ross' thread is here:

    http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showthread.php?t=193989

I made two posts on the subject in Ross' thread. The first was my original take on the news, the second post was a response to another poster's comment that I was being unreasonable and Manny should submit to the blood testing. Here are those two posts, separated with asterisks:

I'm starting to doubt whether Floyd really wants to fight Pacquiao.

If blood testing is not standardized for championship fights during the time period which Pacquiao is saying he will choose not to have blood drawn, then Team Mayweather's insistence that Pacquiao submit to this demand is simply not acceptable and Pacquiao should not agree to it. Testing is regularly done after fights, and this has caught cheaters such as Roy Jones, Jr. (Andro) in the past. If Pacquiao is the user which Team Mayweather is insinuating that he is, then Pacquaio is likely to be caught as others have been in their own post-fight testing.

The comments made by Team Mayweather and Richard Schaefer seem like a coordinated hit job aimed at allowing Mayweather to pull out of the fight while attempting to blame Pacquiao for what is increasingly looking like Team Mayweather's cowardice.

    Extremely disappointing, and

I shouldn't even take time to answer you. But I'm in a good mood tonight.

Do you know what the principle of the Equal Protection Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment to the US Constitution is? Do you know why Sammy Sosa -- who I think was a HUGE juicer -- refused to submit to sportswriter Rick Reilly's offer to take a drug test to prove he was clean?

Here's the summary: If Fighter X doesn't have to do something, I shouldn't have to do it, either. It's not enough for Mayweather to say he'll take the blood test, it's about other fighters in the sport not having to take similar blood tests as what is being asked of Pacquiao. It simply isn't fair until and unless ALL fighters are REQUIRED to do the same thing.

If that were the rule on the books, then I would say "Damn right, Pacquiao had better take the blood test." But it's not, so singling him out for this made-up stipulation isn't fair and won't pass the smell test. It's selective persecution and it reeks of fear and cowardice by Team Mayweather.

I think that Team Mayweather has finally found a way to pull out of this fight and try to blame it on Manny Pacquiao. I'm extremely upset about this development, but if this is how it goes down, it will be worse than Floyd's obvious ducking of Margarito.

As I said in my first post: Cheaters such as Roy Jones, Jr. have been caught with post-fight testing. If Manny Pacquiao is the mega-cheat which Team Mayweather is trying to portray him as, I am very sure that he will be caught and disciplined when he submits to the post-fight testing as well.

Manny Pacquiao does not have to dance this jig because Team Mayweather starts playing the music. Team Mayweather isn't a sanctioning body that makes rules as it sees fit. And if the fight gets canceled because of this, I think the backlash against Floyd will make what happened to induce his crying spell after the Baldomir bout seem like nothing.

It simply is not fair or just for Floyd Mayweather to ask Manny Pacquiao to submit to an arbitrary testing "requirement" which none of the boxing sanctioning bodies require and which isn't being asked of any other fighter in the sport save Manny Pacquiao. Team Mayweather is not a boxing commission, they have ZERO jurisdiction in matters of drug testing and it is not only acceptable, but good, that Manny Pacquiao tells them to take their BS blood testing "rule" for the fight and shove it.

If Floyd Mayweather were allowed to perpetrate this fraud against Manny Pacquiao and the boxing public, who will be the next fighter to make up some random "requirement" before they take a particular fight? What's next, a permanent spot on the WBO Board of Directors for Team Mayweather?

This is the first time I actually believe Team Mayweather does not want to fight Manny Pacquiao. This entire kerfuffle seems to me like a way to try to get Floyd out of the fight while making it seem like it's Pacquiao's fault. Pathetic. This is Exhibit 1,053,117 of why many boxing fans do not like Floyd Mayweather but love a guy like Manny Pacquiao. Pacquiao wants to fight, and it looks like -- again -- Floyd wants to run.
