no your comparing apples to oranges...

if manny said "floyd I want to watch your boxing gloves be made to ensure there is nothing illegal inside of them" that would be a reasonable request because it is ensuring a fair fight..

The idea of the 10 million is just make it a high enough sum so that Floyd won't go over the limit. Floyd already went over the limit when he didn't even attempt to make weight vs JMM. Making weight is old and part of boxing.

This Olympic bull**** test IS NOT. It's only happening cause crackhead and crackhead sr. are making baseless accusations. "Pac, I'm gonna take this test, THEREFORE you should too". Why?

That said I think Manny should just agree so Team Fraud can stop crying.

he agreed to blood test 3 ****in months apart!! had he said something like no more than 2 weeks prior to the fight its understandable.

3 ****in months is plenty of time to get that **** out of his system..

This topic doesn't need another thread

Yep, they would have us believe that asking for DRUG TESTING is a form of ducking. I don't know whether I should just laugh and abandon the thread?

Floyd is asking for DRUG TESTING to ensure FAIR PLAY in one of the biggest and most significant fights in history. Am I missing something here?

Oh, it's not standard? It's never happened before? Maybe that is why so many GET AWAY WITH IT. Maybe it SHOULD be standard for such drug tests in our sport. Without getting into this debate, it should be apparent that Floyd is not a villain here.

WRONG. Do you know anything about steroids? They are done in CYCLES. If the cycle of whatever Manny is on is UNDER a month then guess what? Manny's request is unreasonable. He can easily slip masking agents in.

Are you saying that the entire Olympic Boxing program is asking "too much" and being "unreasonable"?

    Hahaha. Game over!

crimson, wg2, Babality -- Thanks for the props. Appreciate that! :good

I actually made my own thread about this because it ticks me off so much, the stunt Team Mayweather is trying to pull here.

Zavy -- Wrong. There are certain things which are negotiable about fights and things which are not. Glove sizes are negotiable. Drug testing is not. Nor is having a license to fight in a certain commission's jurisdiction (like Nevada and the Nevada State Athletic Commission). No license, no fight.

Drug testing is a fairly standard, required part of championship fights, at least in the USA. If it weren't, guys that have cheated and been caught never would have submitted to the testing. They did so because they were required to do so. That's why you have things like athletic commissions, to mandate things that then aren't negotiable.

Team Mayweather isn't a boxing commission, and they have no right to ask Pacquiao to take a blood test other fighters aren't asked to take. They know that, and that is why I think this is a way to try to get Floyd out of a fight it's looking like he doesn't want while at the same time trying to blame Pacquiao. Very, very weak and incredibly transparent.

Good post. I mean, Floyd is only asking for fair play. I don't see why that's drawing such ire.

Shaefer said "Todd told me that Pacquiao has difficulty with taking blood and doesn't want to do it so close to the fight. He, Pacquiao, would only agree to have blood drawn before the kick-off press conference and after the fight"

The Press Confrence is 10 weeks before the fight and after the fight it will be out of his system.

How blood testing is not done all the time is beyond me

    It's bull****.

Somehow Mayweather and his team of queers had never requested this before in other fights, and now are playing these dumb mind games with Pacman.

Exactly like the OP of this thread said, just make Floyd look like he is trying to back out, while making it seem like its Pacs fault.

Mayweathers know that Pac will not be pushed around or want to live up to all of their demands, especially a bogus one like this. Just because the Mayweathers decide they want something, doesnt mean everyone is going to bend over for them. Unbelievable.

A cheap way to make Pac look bad, and an easy out of the fight for Floyd.

The Mayweathers are the biggest bunch of crybabys this sport has EVER seen... P4P.

Mayweather will never be respected like Pacquiao is, even if he was to beat him.
