That second Buchanan Laguna has some serious technical skills in it.

Saying there was poor use of the jab in it is like someone sayin Duran was just a slugger with no defence.

I have always liked Mosley, but he's your man to watch if you want to see poor use of a jab.He could have been much more if he had used his as more than a rangefinder in most of fights.

Jeff, I've waited quite a while to say this but you are plumb wrong, and have demonstrated that you haven't watched the whole fight...certainly not in context. Buchanan was badly marked up under and around both eyes, the left in particular being nearly completely shut from very early doors. Because of this Ken had to assume the square on stance of a slugger, ditching one of the best tools in his armoury, his jab...the fight is famous because of the way that Buchanan dealt with his injury...read the following and see what you think.

If you say i'm wrong I absolutely accept it. I am not at all knowledgable of boxing at that period. I can tell you every world and british champ from 95 onwards but my knowledge of boxing history is not very good beyond the elite i'm afraid.

From a non knowlegable persons point of view I only have the video's to go by. I'll rewatch and feedback.

Even if you think Hopkins won that fight he hardly won it easy did he?

Out of the portion of people who scored it for Hopkins very few had it by more than a round!

    Norris is completely overrated.

Chinny as Hell, his best wins are hardly impressive. An offensive beast no doubt, but nowhere near as impressive as Buchanan, who's defensive slips and ability to go into the trenches when necessary would hold him in better stead regarding the greats of his division, which incidentally is far more packed than Norris' (who IMO would get starched by both McCallum and Hearns)

Norris, whilst decent, gets shockingly overrated around here.

Oh yeah, and at 135 Buchanan would have far too much durability, nuance and variety for Mosley, who is amongst the most overrated Lightweights I've ever seen.

For me, Mosley came into his own at Welter. Whilst impressive at Lightweight, the likes of Holliday and Leija (and those performances lack the 'wow' factor IMO) are not a good gauge of how he'd get on with an Ike Williams, Carlos Ortiz or Duran.

Buchanan>Mosley at Lightweight but Mosley's post-135 triumphs lead me to have him over Buchanan on my list (both towards the latter end of a top 100 probably)

But then after the director yells 'cut' Chuck would knock him out with a spinning helicopter kick.

Then he would stand over him and show that beneath his beard there is no chin, just another fist!
