I dont know how much blood is taken out for this drug test, but I think within 5 days is way too close to the actual fight date. But I would like to see this test done..I just wish someone worthy would have demanded the test..not a coward like mayweather. Seems hypocritical that the person who is making these kind of demands is the least deserving to do so.

Some of the reporting is incorrect. Roach has said no blood 24 hours before the fight and its final. Anything upto, after, and in between is game I suppose.

What's ridiculous about asking for a more efficient drug test, from a guy you expect might be cheating. The same drug test you yourself will have to take.

    What demands has he made?

So far, he wanted the fight at 147, in Vegas and blood testing.

Manny agreed to all 3. (He wanted Vegas as well)

Manny wanted 8oz gloves, 10 million penalty, (which Floyd agreed to all 3)

    :patsch:patsch

only ignorant and bias fans think that way, and they are mostly on your side of the road..

how can you say he's refusing when he's agreed to take a blood test right after the fight?.

btw, random drug testing before the fight is bull**** if that's what you mean he's refusing..

They could'nt do this for every fight because its too expensive.......but I do think that they should test rigorously for championship fights, or fights where the fighters are making over a million dollars.

Certainly there should be no excuses for thourougly testing fighters when there are millions of dollars on the line......money for the testing would not be an issue in these cases.

he's not refusing a drug test.. he's questioning the timing... they can test him a minute after the fight... if he's doing steroids, and it is going to help him win the fight, will the drug magically disappear from his system so it won't show if he was tested immediately after the fight? pac's request IMO is reasonable... if he's doing steroids, traces of it will still be detectable after the fight so stop with the excuses already. he's willing to be tested after the fight. let's get it on!

I don't know the extent of the rumors and I'm certainly no chemist, but the inherent problem with certain testing systems, especially systems wherein the test-taker knows the date of the test, is the ability to cycle on and off a drug. If he knows exactly when he's being tested this seems like a pretty significant possibility.

That being said I don't think that Manny's juicing, although I guess it wouldn't be the most shocking thing in the world, but I do think that stricter testing is a good thing and I'm in the camp of "if you're not hiding anything you might as well do it." I think that saying it gives Floyd a mental edge is a pretty weak argument, sounds more like an excuse to blame it on Floyd by someone with an agenda, but that's just my two cents.

It would be fair for title fights. Btw:

8CN - Is it true that Manny never wanted to give blood the day before any of his fights?

FR - We will never do it a day before a fight. We never flunked a urine test, and there is no reason to think my fighter is dirty. We have passed every test ever given to us. We go by the commission rules, not no rule Mayweather puts out there.

8CN - So it's fair to say that the ball is completely in Mayweathers court now, you guys are not budging?

FR - Yes it's fair to say that. If Floyd wants to fight us, then step up and fight us. If you want Manny to take a blood test after the fight, no problem, but not a day before.

8CN - Wouldn't a blood test the day after the fight be the same as a test a day before? I mean if Manny was taking steroids, wouldn't the test the day after the fight show the same thing as it would the day before?

FR - Yes agreed. A urine test will show the same thing too,but if they want a blood test the day after the fight, I have no problem with that. I will not have my guy giving blood a day before the fight, that will make him weak. Why is Floyd Mayweather dictating what we do in life? It's crazy... he's a coward and he's afraid to fight us and that is all there is to it.
