Vitali PBF (if the pac fight happens). Wlad (is gonna want to avenge his bro's defeat to Haye) Last one may not happen in 2010! (obviously it may not happen at all). As my wild card I'm gonna say Chad Dawson!
That best be a joke:bart. Right, my list: Juanma- I've been saying it for ages and got a lot of stick for it prior to the Mtagwa fight, but he will be beaten when he faces somebody world-class in 2010. Wlad- Haye will roast him if they meet and Chambers could potentially pull off an upset, IMO. Pavlik- Whether it's Sturm or Williams, he'll fall in 2010. Julio Cesar Chavez Jr- Top Rank have to put him in with somebody who has a chance of beating him soon and he will lose. Froch- Kessler and Abraham are next- if he wins both then I will be very suprised. Bradley- I have really warmed to the guy of late after being very critical of him. I do think he will take another huge challenge on and lose in 2010, though. Valero- The hype will be exposed. Calderon- If he fights Viloria, IMO. Still one of my faves to watch, though. :good
Losfer words If Froch were to win one of those fights and lose the other would you consider it a fall from grace?
Afraid not :-( I dont think 36 yr old JMM fairs well in the current 140 division, would love to be proved wrong though.
Not at all. He'd prove that he was one of the premier guys at 168, but not adaptable and skillful enough to beat everyone out there. Where does he go if he loses and goes out? He isn't a money-maker and hasn't got anything at the moment other than a belt. He would fall quite badly if he were to go out at the group stage, IMHO:good.
Already mentioned, Carl Froch. He has at least 2 fights against top quality opposition lined up for next year, Kessler and Abraham, and I think he loses both. The only way to save his career may be to move up to 175 and fight Pascal again. I think Kelly Pavlik will fall from grace either through the public and, more importantly, the television stations becoming tired of his poor opposition (to think that we used to moan about Jermain Taylor) or because he will lose to Paul Williams. If he fights either of the Klitschko brothers I think Haye not only loses but has to think about his career. He may suprise us towards the end of 2010 with his retirement.
Froch may get away with kessler, who might be on the slide. Although in Denmark it will be tough. Abrahams only fights 20 secs per round, but may still be too hard for Carl.
Booth seems to have put his problems behind him and does look a million dollars...lets see what happens when he steps up a level :thumbsup
I'd prefer him to stay at 135, TBH. He's undoubtedly the best at the weight and has two interesting potential fights in Katsidis and Valero; I also think he beats both. 140 is obviously a huge step considering his age, but I think he still has the beating of most of the titleholders at the weight. He could feasibly pick a title up at the weight, IMO. As I said before, though, I'd much rather he stayed at 135.
