fighting pac was just for the show. he never intends to fight pac anyway and would likely find a way to get out. now floyd can fight matthew hatton.

at first glance it was floyd sr. since he started the rumor without any proof. but the real blame is on floyd. the negotiations are going on smoothly until this demands. if floyd really wants to fight pac, he should settle with blood test after the fight. it would still detect if pac was using some PEDs. but of course floyd reallly don't intend to fight pac.

If not then he's a fraud! :deal

yes! from now on this should be a rule in every floyd fight, i'm sure matthew hatton is willing to take the test.

The reason it's not in place is possibly because their are so many star fighters, sometimes superstar fighters, who are being protected by the less rigid standards of testing, which are often just a token gesture to the outside world.

Promoters are accustomed to promoting drug-assisted fighters, and fans are accustomed to watching drug-assisted fighters.

Professional boxing has always been lagging at the back of any drive for "ethics" in professional sports, and always in the forefront as far as money-grabbing hype and backstage corruption is concerned.

I don't see why Pac would refuse to this. Especially in light of all of the accusations that seem to be coming out against him lately, even before his refusal. You would think the guy would want to take this opportunity to clear his name, but not the case.

I have always been one to take all the accusations with a grain of salt, and even defended Pac on many occasions.

I must say though that this new develpment has me seriously thinking about why hew would decline a potential $30-$50 million dollar payday, due to a stupid drug test.

    Thoughts!

lets remember innocent until proven guilty

it was actually the floyd camp who played the hardball for wanting an olympic style testing or no fight. pac would agree to a blood test after the fight or any urine test anytime.

They could simply take blood samples 30 days out, 10-15 days before fight time and then right after the fight, with random urine tests throughout training camp. That sounds like a reasonable compromise...
