pac wants blood test but only request it to not be on the days leading to the fight. would USADA guarantee this? if not then floyd is asking pac too much by sticking with olympic style testing.

It would weaken him as much as it would Mayweather.... Pac fans are conviniently forgetting the testing would be equal for both!!!

You are absolutely correct! It applies to both. As to how much it affects both of them, we don't know. It's not our bodies so we can't be certain. In terms of effectiveness of the test, I don't see any difference extracting blood 3 days before and on the fight day itself. In fact I also don't see any difference in effectiveness if the blood is extracted a few minutes after the fight.

The only way I can rationalize this is that Mayweather knows that Pacman will absolutely not subject himself to blood extraction on the fight day so Floy insists on it to not make the fight happen. I have to give credit to this very brilliant move by Floyd while making Pacman look bad to those people who only read headlines but he's a ***** if he uses it to duck Pacman.

I think that's a pretty black & white way of looking at it. Taking blood affects people in different ways, maybe it would have more of an affect on Pacquiao's body than Mayweather's.

there is a concerted and coordinated effort from floyd's camp and GBP promotions to make it look like pac is avoiding the drug test in the press and media. pac already said he agrees to blood testing but not close to the fight date. is this request from pac unreasoable?

they took pac's blood days before his first fight with morales... i don't think it affected the result of the fight but i doubt they want it to happen again.

I think the effect on Pacman is more on the phsycological side. I think he sincerely believes it will weaken him. In my opinion, I don't think it would weaken him physically but it would weaken him mentally if that is his belief. Boxing is as much mental as it is physical. If you have an ounce of doubt in your mind that you are not 100%, it becomes a disadvantage.

    I already posted this elsewhere.

This thread contains the only poster who is even remotely qualified to speak on the matter.

So why is blood testing suddenly in the best interest of the sport?

didn't they agree to that already? they can do whatever test they want but the cut off must be 5-7 days before the fight. they also agree to test pac right after the fight in the locker room...

I respectfully disagree with you, but IF it does affect differently, then so be it... that's why this is a sport and the best man should win... that would certainly not be the only factor that affects the outcome differently to each fighter.... I mean, their ability to take a punch, stamina, quickness, and probably hundreds more... that would just be 1 more factor among countless others... IFFFFFFFFFFF it does affect them differently!!
