    http://www.mlive.com/mayweather/index.ssf/2009/12/blood_vs_urine_usada_clears_up.html

Why not set a new standard in boxing drug screening? Not saying Paccy is juiced but its clear the current system is no guarantee of a boxer being clean.

Travis Tygart, the CEO of USADA, told Kevin Iole of Yahoo! Sports that both urine and blood tests are needed to determine if a fighter is clean.

"There is no urine-based tested for human-growth hormone," Tygart said. "It doesn’t show up in the urine. It’s only a blood-based test. That’s true of a number of prohibited substances, particularly those that would enhance and aid a boxer.”

Tygert also added the schedule Arum is proposing won't work, because a fighter would have the advantage of knowing when he'd be tested.

“That kind of window is totally unacceptable,” Tygart said. “It would provide a huge loophole for a cheater to step through and get away with cheating.”

On your last paragraph. I see that you already made your mind that Pac is on roids.

To me all this talk of overhauling the current testing system from Floyd supporters is BS. Where were all these same folks for the past 10 years under the current regulatory procedures, crying about how inadequate the current doping system is?

They seemingly crawled out from the woodwork in the past week or so (just happening to get here on the eve of this fight getting made, huh?). And they've had a helluva long time to observe Pac - hell even post-Cotto.

The same folks that were saying right after the Cotto fight that Manny ain't **** - Floyd gonna eat him up suddenly jump this bandwagon. But if you're on it, you're tacitly admitting that Pac is a WAYYYYY better fighter than you're giving him credit for. It's that simple.

Nope why even ask for a fair fight let them take what the want and no question any thing.

Pac fan are not concerned if their fighter is clean or not their more concern about his reputation which is ****ing stupid.. Take the test and be done with it.

and if they are fighting on even terms **** in the cup and prove it . case closed , over and done with, it official stripe shirt with the whistle..

Your new to boxing so this may be over your head.. but for information everyone has question the commission method of fair play and ethics.. Margarito and Titos hand wraps, Shane and Evander size and strength gains. You be stupid to think no one has been asking question like this before pac.

Pac struggles with, and by many estimations LOSES to, Marquez at 130 lbs. Then he knocks the **** out of Diaz at 135, a weight at which many feard would be a titch too high for the Pac man. THEN he ****ing moves up to 147 lbs not even six months later and brutalizes Oscar ****ing De la Hoya, OBLITERATES the top guy at 140, and then DESTROYS the hardest hitting welterweight in the world after taking numerous flush shots without effect. Now he doesn't want to take blood tests during certain time periods leading up to a fight at 147. Something doesn't smell right.

It's more a matter of principle. There are testing practices in place that have been used to the satisfaction of all fighters, trainers & promoters for the past several years. The Mayweathers have no right to institute their own policies & practices for Pacquiao to adhere to. Pac, Roach & Arum refuse to tap dance for the whip*******s and I honestly can't blame them. It's demeaning and an embarassment for all parties involved. What if Pacquiao says he won't take the fight unless Pretty Boy dons a pink tutu and eats one of Manny's turds an hour before the fight? Is Mayweather at fault for saying no?

Uh, no kid I'm not "new" to boxing. And I'm not saying anybody hasn't asked these questions before, either of Pac or other boxers or the boxing comm. My point is that these Floyd fans who are now so suddenly "concerned" with doping issues acting as though they represent the higher ideals of boxing is a load of horse****.

Plain and simple, it has only to do with this fight, and, in case it went over YOUR head, it's coz they saw something in Pac that scared them. Funny how they didn't mention it post Cotto and went on and on about how Money May would "destroy" Pac.

And remember, I'm coming from this angle as a guy who maintains Mayweather WILL win (if the fight goes ahead - based on prior performances) and that this additional testing is unnecessary.

Mayweather Sr is not the most smartest person in the world. But he works in the boxing business and knows his stuff. There must be something he has heard or seen to make him speak out, even if it is false information or misunderstandings.

 Hey, if we throw Freddie into the mix (LOTS OF LOVE:)) it could turn out that the only people who end up being allowed to be in either corner could be Manny and Floyd!:). Only joking of course, but hey it's silly season!

As a fan of both, I just want to see a good fight! Like you Xavier, I do believe that Floyd will win if this fight goes ahead and all this and I also agree that all this additional testing is unnecessary! It's a shame the Mayweather's don't have as much confidence in Floyd as his fans do! If they did, this would never have been a topic for discussion!!

Thats why there are what you call ATG fighters... :deal

all they are asking is a 5-7 days before the fight cut off... they also agreed to take the test immediately after the fight, what more can you ask for? :patsch
