Fedor must surely lose some day. Who will be the man to beat the GOAT?

Weird, but am I the only one who thought thought Fedor looked better than ever. He showed amazing patience and dexterity avoiding Roger's ground and pound, adjusted to his dangerous punches by the end of round one and then beat Roger's at his own game in round two in the striking department. I think he is approaching his prime and his game is still evolving much like GSP's skillset keeps growing fight by fight. Fedor should continue to win for a long time barring serious injury or a loss of motivation.

If he doesnt retire 1st, he will lose & judging by combat sports history it will probably be vs someone that he would have wiped in his prime.

Personally... I would HATE for Lesnar to be the one.

I would LOVE for Nogueira to be the one.

It will likely be someone else tho, I cant give a name because Id favour him over everyone at this particular point in time.

His style as changed tremendously. There once was a time when fedor was considered to have NO Knockout power and was regarded as a submission fighter. It's only in the latter part of his career that he has started KOing people with one punch. I think the scary thing about Fedor is that he seems to like beating fighters at their own game and always pulls the win out of the bag even when things look bad. Take the Rogers fight for example. When Rogers was on top GnPing, Fedor was still looking to win the fight (he attempted the armbar) whilst most fighters would simply be looking for a way out of that position. I think he's at his peak right about now and i can't see anyone in the HW division with the tools to beat him. I think the fighters with the biggest chance of pulling off an upset are Barnett and Overeem. Barnett on his day is an absolute beast and capable of beating anyone and Overeem simply because he's got the power and accuracy to deliver a one hit KO. That being said, i still think Fedor would take both of them.

Overeem has 0 chance vs Fedor IMO & Fedor showed devastating punch power as far back as the Gary Goodridge fight, its always been there, he boxed in the army supposedly well before MMA & he prefers combat sambo (were certain strikes are legal) as opposed to regular sambo (straight submission grappling) + I dont agree he`s at his peak right now but he has preserved himself so well that he is still thee major force in all of MMA, he aint slipped that much.

Other than those points, I agree with your observations on the great one.

I think Josh Barnett has a shot. Can't say I can name anyone else right now.
