I honestly think Hopkins would TKO him late when he really gets going. Bernard has always been able to come on in the championship rounds and even as great as Tommy was he has shown problems with his chin.

Hard to say.... but Hopkins will have to make it a physical fight. An older Hopkins looses because he cant just sit on the outside and try to outbox him, Tommy is too fast and too accurate with the jab and right hand and he has that reach.

Hopkins will have to fight him on the inside and use his defense. I like the Hopkins of the Echol fights, staying on the inside, being aggressive and keeping up a good work rate.

It depends if Hopkins can break him down and win enough before the 12th, it helps Hopkins if it is a 15 round fight (though he never fought 15 rounds there is no doubt Hops has the stamina for it)

I think Hops will clearly loose some opening rounds and he will be playing catchup like the SRL/Hearns fight. Though Hearns was overtrained that fight, came in 145 and it took SRL to the 14th round to stop him. So I am not convinced that Hopkins stops him especially not a 12 rounder and with both of them in peak form.

Power might not be that much of a difference, but hearns does several things better than Trinidad, he is faster, has a better jab and has better reach. And I think Hearns probably does hit harder at 160 than Trinidad, atleast his power is more proven at the higher weights because he has KOed more guys there where as Trinidad stopped at Joppy at 160 as far as his prime.

The Hopkins that KO'd Trinidad would beat Hearns no doubt. And for those who say Hopkins doesn't have the power to KO Hearns are wrong. Bernard has some big KO power if he lands the right shot

:rofl:rofl:rofl:rofl ****ing noob never watched any of Hearns fights. Is so obvious.

I mean anyone who has seen Hearns SRL..... Hearns is really just as fast minus the times when SRL throws the arm punch flurries but as far as when they are boxing, hearns doesnt have any problem landing that jab from the outside on SRL, he was damn fast. Certainly fast enough to trouble Hopkins.

Hops landed at will all night on Trinidad and didnt take him out until the final round. Hearns is a much better fighter than trinidad especially at the 154-168 range where trinidad didnt do anything but beat Joppy and Mayorga.

I dont see Hopkins winning every round vs Hearns, I think he will loose the early rounds and he would have to be more careful because hearns is faster and more accurate than trinidad.

Im not saying hearns wins, I think its hard to say 50/50 or a slight favorite depending on which version of each guy shows up. I am just saying I dont see it as a "no doubt" win for hopkins.

I am surprised "Hopkins via UD" is the most popular option. I have no problem if someone believes Hopkins KO's him (although I do not think so) - but outboxing a fighter who was never outboxed by anyone?

I am biased for Hearns. I love the straight right hand of Hearns to shock Hopkins. Late TKO or UD by Hearns just because he's more offensive.

 at Hearns not having speed.

This is a tough fight for me to call. Hopkins has had problems with speed, and Hearns not only is fast, but hits hard and was a terrific boxer from the outside. The Shuler fight showed that Tommy's straight right was still extremely powerful at 160. I can see Hearns's speed and outside boxing skills being the difference and Tommy wins a decision.

On the other hand, Hearns's problems with punch resistance were more pronounced above 154. His legs were already rubbery by the end of round 1 against Hearns, although Steward blames it on a leg massage. Roldan hurt Hearns at 160, Barkley and Hagler took him out. Hopkins had some power in his right hand, particularly the more aggressive Hopkins of earlier years. Hopkins is also the more versatile fighter, adept at long, mid, and short range. If he's able to maul Hearns and use his superior infighting skills, I can see him breaking Tommy down.

I'm a bit of a fence sitter on this matchup, but I'll lean more towards B-Hop in this one.
