I don't see much point in a second Martinez/Williams fight. It will go to the cards again and I doubt it solves much.

I really don't see Goosen taking Arum up on his offer and Arum isn't going to even consider Goosen's demand of a 50/50 co promotion. Williams didn't help himself at 160 in his last fight. Kelly has three titles and is lineal champ. I don't think Goosen's is taking a negotiating position. He has to know now that Paul is not a MW and doesn't belong in the ring with the hard punching MW champ.

Both these guys are not true MW's. Paul and Kelly go to the center of the ring and slug it out till the smaller man goes down. Williams wore Martinez down in the end. Pavlik throws almost as many punches but with a lot more on them and is going to wear Martinez down quicker and therefore I see a late stoppage even though Martinez will out box Kelly early on.

I don't really want to see Pavlik vs. anyone...I guess I'm just dissapointed by the Williams ''situation'' (not wanting to fight).

I wouldn't mind seeing a matchup involving any of those 3, though.

It was Pavlik that pushed for this fight. If you don't know that, you shouldn't be posting on it. Seriously.

Pushed for the fight that was cancelled due to his ''staph infection'', right?

I realize that Espino was straight off the "c" list, but he is also an average sized middleweight. In this vid there are several camera angles that show just exactly how freaking huge KP really is. At the point where Espino hit KP after the bell, watch Kelly walk toward Espino and away from the camera. LOOK at this mother****er, and then come back here and tell me ANY of these guys at 147-154 belong in the ring with him.

Yes. HBO gave Pavlik a list of approved fighters they would accept for air. Williams was not even on the list released to the public. Supposedly Kelly went 'off list' and wanted Williams. It would be the biggest money fight for either man. A couple weeks into camp Kelly could not make a fist with the left hand. They weren't going into the ring less than 100% like they did against Bhop and Jack Loew made the decision to pull the plug on the Dec. 5 date. NOT THE FIGHT. No one blames Williams for not waiting. Peterson's mouth? Not so much. :yep

Don't get me wrong; I like Pavlik. I think he's a good fighter with a good future ahead of him.

As long as he doesn't fight Williams. I'm not a big Williams groupie, who thinks he can't be beat, even against Jesus himself, but I don't think he (Pavlik) has a chance against him(Williams), either. I think Williams' workrate, size, reach, and endurance is too much.

    Period.

Interesting. I thought all three KD's were from upper cuts, but the last one was a delayed reaction from a right that landed before the last uppercut glances off the side of his head.

Pavlik decimates Williams, and there wouldn't even be a debate about this if not for the number of posters who don't know much about boxing. SIZE matters, and we have weight classes for a reason. That is why Goosen is moving Williams back to 147.

Bob Arum told Unified Champ.Com that Williams has until the end of the year to accept the terms he already agreed to. If PW doesn't take it by the end of the year, Top Rank will look elsewhere. (The interview is on You Tube.)

Most people are a lot less excited about Pavlik/Williams since the Martinez fight. Paul's stock went way down due to the way Martinez battered him around and busted him up. Nearly all intelligent fans now realize that Williams has no business fighting at 160, and think he needs to clear things up with Martinez in a fight at 154, or go back to 147.

I doubt if Pavlik will approve a fight with Martinez. He already rejected that fight earlier this year. Bring on Sturm! That is a far more meaningful middleweight fight than Martinez who has unfinsihed business with Williams.
