If you're going to do a fanstasy fight aleast do a original one. But am telling this to a person that never knew John Mugabi could be blown away early in a fight......:patsch

Just how much boxing have you seen? Because I think you're just a boxrec looker and havent even seen many vintage fights, how long you been into boxing for?

Let me guess since watching Calzaghe vs Kessler or Hatton vs Mayweather?:-(

    Typical.......

This is the fantasy match with 2 ATGs I'd put the most money on Ali dominating and winning. Louis was just too plodding of foot and always had problems with boxers and movers, against Conn, Walcott, Schmelling. He'd be fighting the fastest man he'd ever faced, the best mover he ever faced, and possibly the strongest with a great great chin. Liston and Foreman had allot of similarities to Louis stylistically and yes in some ways they weren't as good but in other ways were better and Ali clearly exploited their weaknesses the same way he'd do to Louis. Louis himself admitted he'd find Ali hard to hit but he'd goto the body, Ali retorted i'll be punching you in the head when you goto the body.

Ali by late round stoppage, ahead on all scorecards.

I agree with this. Ali decisions him in a tough fight.

And you're the man who's a Boxrec checker, your insults are so pitiful they're hilarious. You just make inane and unfounded comments, mainly because you're a ******. Were you that matey involved in the Baby P case?

I also wouldn't agree that Ali hit with more force than Schmeling. But, no, I don't think Louis really catches prime Ali. He was frustrated by Godoy's running shoes and when asked why he couldn't get him out of there in the first fight, he said it's because he wasn't a track star, or something like that. I see a lot more frustration if Ali is the one in there. The same Ali that fought Liston.

WOW! What an amazing point. See, when we do hypothetical threads we usually go via the best version of the fighter. I don't think the best Mugabi was the one that got destroyed by Terry Norris and G-Man, do you?

And yeah, I do pull you up on threads, I pull up twats that act like dicks on threads. You haven't exactly tried to endear yourself to the community, you've made **** loads of enemies and go through the whole alt account thing over and over again, debating with yourself.

If you just came clean and only posted things you knew about, rather than talking **** and sending people PM's under different names, then maybe people wouldn't call you out so much.

I would add to that though, that I did always think Ali was an underrated hitter. I do feel he chose not to swing for the fences when he could have on many occasions. Just wasn't his style.

What convinces me that he wasn't completely feather fisted is A) Bonavena, stopping someone that late B) Foreman; regardless of how tired Foreman was, he had never been hurt up until that point and ended up being a bit shaky until his first retirement. If you ask me Ali's speed and accuracy made up for his lack of 'power', and I certainly feel he could hurt Louis as much as Schmeling did in the first fight. However, Louis had famously been playing golf in the lead-up to that fight.

Even if Louis wasn't made of granite I think on his day it would take a lot to keep him down.

This sounds about right. Joe's best chance would be a KO, and a prime Ali - virtually any version of Ali, really - just didn't get KO'd.

Easy there big fella. Flea's a fine lad and poster - just because you don't agree on a John Mugabi fight doesn't mean we have to run rampant.

Absolutely, still the only one who knocked Oscar and George out. But like you say, other factors than brute strength were involved. Punching smart gets him credit as much as punching hard. Not to bring the dreaded general forum into the hallowed halls of classic, but...It does remind me of several mentions I've made regarding Pac/Mayweather there. I argued that Pac standing up to heavy-handed Cotto is no proof whatsoever of Floyd's ability or inability to score a knockout on Pacquiao. I think I even cited Ali's knockout victories over George and Oscar several times to illustrate it too.
