Yey most knowledgable fans have Olivares ahead of Barrera, Id put Olivares ahead but only a tad higher. I have Olivares 3or 4 on my ATG Mexican list.

From what I've seen of Chacon, which is not a lot, he was a good fighter, not a great one, that took shots to give his but was tough as nails and could hit. Barrera was a great fighter who could do everything, and I favor him to outbox Chacon over the long haul, whether it be 12 or 15 rounds. I don't see it being a factor.

Bill Butcher thinks the same thing too people. he just doesn't have the heart to say it. He feels saying something positive about Marco is somehow stabbing Erik in the back.

this is a tough match. Both of these fighters are great, great warriors. Chacon's craftiness and quickness is underrated. He may not have the ring savvy of MAB, but he has more power and the ability to close out fights big. When the chips are down, Bobby is gonna go all out to win. Marco is tough, but not as tough as Chacon. I'd go with Bobby in the later rounds.

I only gave the nod to Chacon based on what Ive seen of both men at 130 (Ive not seen Chacon at any other weight), Chacon seemed better suited to that weight but MAB could still have won, its a coin toss really.... all in all tho, Barrera was the greater fighter, nobody can deny that I dont think.

Ps. Addie, we both know that if Im 50/50 on a Barrera vs poll, he aint getting the nod, right ?

I dont deny that either :D

Chacon has a heart as big as himself, he always pushes himself beyond the limit in the last rds, even after taking vicious punishment... he has one of the biggest hearts Ive ever seen of all the fighters Ive seen & he can be really slick defensively too Ive noticed.... it would be an amazing fight with he & Barrera, Id pay lots to see that ****.

Let me guess Bill, Morales beats Chacon? Style wise, Barrera does better but they both beat him. Better, more complete fighters in my judgment.

130 wasnt his best weight, he lacks natural size to these guys.... I would pick him over Limon, Boza-Edwards is a harder fight, might go for MAB coz Boza wasnt the quickest (neither was Limon) & I think even at 130, Marco has the defensive ability, speed & accuracy to land the more telling blows.

Chacon has better skills & is quicker than both Limon & Boza, thats why I think he`d be tougher :good

Depends how Erik goes about it, it has potential to be one of the best fights in history, if Erik had his brawling head on, its anyone`s fight, no Ko`s tho but if he used his movement & jab etc & only went to war when necessary, then yes, I think Morales beats Chacon, Morales height & reach would be a problem for Chacon but he has to be in boxing mode to make those count :good

    No worries :D

I`ll answer anyway.... Ive only ever seen Chacon at 130 but Barrera was absolute peak at 126 so I doubt - tho never say never - any footage of Chacon at 126 would sway me to pick him over the Barrera of 126 from Hamed-Tapia.
